She's sleeping now but I wonder if I could/should take her there tomorrow just to get a second opinion . My regular pedi didn't know wtf it was, but the senior pedi seemed pretty sure it was coxsackie. I have to see how it works with my insurance and whether I can take her there if her pedi is open.

I'd absolutely get a second opinion tomorrow, urgent care or another practice, given the severity of the rash and the pedi not taking you seriously. Poor E. Hope she (and you) can get some rest tonight and better help tomorrow.

Oh, poor baby. Yes I would bring her somewhere, anywhere, to get a different opinion tomorrow. I'm sad to see this hasn't gotten any better, little sweetie
Is she in antibiotics? Shane had a similar angry red rash that a reaction to amoxicillin. It started out as large gives, then got red and angry like that.
That looks like the pictures of me when I had Scarlet Fever as a kid. That is bacterial and treated with antibiotics and isn't urgent, but definitely see a doctor in the am. Did she have any symptom of Strep in the last week at all??
No, she hasn't been sick since January.
Poor girl :-(
Is it bad that even with her rash, I just want to squeeze and cuddle her? She is just too cute!
I trust your judgement and think it's fine to wait until the am unless she is having breathing issues or temps or new symptoms.
If your pedi office won't see her in the am, go to urgent care. If the office is still unclear as to what it may be, ask to see a Derm.
It could be hfm (the boys had it pretty bad at one point and didn't totally blister. It was a new strain that they had stared seeing) or Scarlett fever, or a virus (Henry gets really bad rashes with viruses) or something else that they need to figure out.
And wtf to the pedi not having a way to see the pictures? It's called email. Every doc has it. They may not like to use it for treatment related issues, but the on call person may be up for looking at them.
I'd take her in right now. Scarlet Fever isn't anything to wait on. Strep of today doesn't present itself as it has in the past and everyone is different. Some don't have fevers, some don't have a sore throat etc. Scarlet Fever is when strep isn't caught and the rash is what clues you in.
My Grandma had Scarlet Fever when she was about 3, she has heart damage because of it. Maybe look an see if you have a Pediatric Urgent Care near you?
Oh no, poor delicious babe. I might consider just going to the ER in the morning because they could be able to call in a consult if there's a peds derm on duty. At the very least, urgent care. Ugh.
I don't know about HFM it looks like Roseola to me. (disclaimer: I'm not a dr.) I rushed DD#1 to the ER when she had that crap (New mom anxiety. ) Bad rash and low grade fever. The only thing I can suggest is Tylenol if she needs it. Aveno makes this awesome oatmeal bath stuff to help alleviate the itch. You may also (clear it with pedi) if you can use 1% cortisone cream to help clear it up.
