Sitting in the drive thru at the bank and it's taking forever. What the heck do people do at the drive thru that takes so long?! On a more exciting note, we have a guy coming tonight to measure for carpet! We already put a deposit down so it's actually happening!
Today was such a bad day at school. My classes were actually pretty good (my worst class was mostly out testing), but in the halls and the classroom next door were out of control. The class next door had a sub and it was so bad, she almost left at noon. She's been teaching for years but she said this was the worst she's ever seen.
Blah. We're on a 1 hr delay tomorrow. They're going to end up calling it. An hour will do NOTHING for the ice on the roads. Just call it tonight so I can drink. Party poopers

We just got back from Target, and I looked at my receipt and noticed they forgot to charge me 12.99 for an Elsa doll I bought. Ugh. I'm alone with the kids and it's too far and too late to drive back. I am going to have to give them a call and hopefully they can do something over the phone.
We haven't had water since waking up this morning. A water main break. I want to shower. Dh is working like a dog today and will STINK when he gets home and won't be able to shower. It won't be fixed till tomorrow. Maybe. Ahhhhh!
alicia45 and fusion - Did you get a ton of snow?? Ours is melting, but soooo much snow!
My random is I have no idea what to answer when family asks what G wants for his birthday. He has a million and one toys and he doesn't really need more. They have taken over the house! We actually need to go through and sort out everything he no longer plays with. I'm going to just start answering "books" to any and all inquiries.
We got so much snow!! It was a blast watching A make her first snowman and learning how to make snow angels. I hope the roads are clear in the morning so that we don't have trouble going to the hospital for dh's surgery.

DH wanted G to try a snow angel, but he kept yelling his hiney was cold. I'm sure our neighbors (also outside) were cracking up.
I think the roads are supposed to be much better tomorrow, but I know your side of town was hit pretty hard.
The carpet guy is still here. He got here sometime before 8:00. H kept asking him questions not related to carpet but other home improvement areas like paint and how to fix the sagging front door. Omg H. I am sick and exhausted and B is still up. He was running around the whole time and then locked his bedroom door with all of us on the outside. That took 20 minutes to get unlocked. Longest. Night. Ever. I'm already planning on not showering in the morning just so I can sleep in. FFTC?
Eta: It's 10:00. He's still here and B keeps getting out of bed. I'm going to collapse.
I'm asking for experiences. Swim classes, zoo membership, etc. He doesn't need anything else and I don't want more crap in the house.
I need to find more possibilities now that we've moved further out into the suburbs, but everyone looked at me like I had two heads when I suggested a zoo membership last year. I get that they want to see G physically open a present, I really do, but I'm tired of "things" just for the sake of getting something to open. I'm sorry, I realize this sounds incredibly ungrateful and bratty.
fusion - Nothing?! I keep thinking you are closer to us than you probably are. We supposedly got 5 inches! I didn't think it would be bad at all when I went to bed.
they cancelled all the schools in anticipation of ice, but nada. Which is ok, I hate ice, we never get snow
Imagine you are a doctor and today you are off... Playing golf with one of your doctor friends.
A vintage plane approaches and you realize it is about to clip some trees and crash on the golf course. You run over to the wreckage and Harrison Ford is sticking out of it. Like what a WTF holy shit moment.
after counting up everyone we know locally and their children, I've decided on no party. I can't invite 40+ people and 30 children into my 1200 square foot home. Just thinking about it is giving me heart palpitations. The weather beginning of May is just too dicey to plan a backyard party, not worth the risk.
I think we'll just take matilda to the zoo for her birthday, a small family "party".
I feel great relief now having made this decision
This is the story of my life right now! We have a great party backyard-a deck with seating, swing-set/slide thing, a blow up bounce house, and plenty of room to run. Nope. The freaking snow is a foot deep outside so everyone has to stay in the house. Literally everyone rsvp'd yes. I'm not sure how this is going to work!
