Anytime I've gotten a message on FB from someone, I've always gotten an email that told me I had a message waiting for me (and I can usually read the message right there in my email). So chances are, he got your message, even if he doesn't go on FB...
I don't think it's weird at all. I've also lost touch with one of my best friends from high school and I've been trying to figure out how to find her. If I knew how to contact one of her siblings to get her info, I would definitely do it.

You can turn these notifications off, so he actually may not have seen it.

I don't get an email when someone sends me a message through messenger. I do get emails if I'm tagged, but that's it.
MrsAxilla you also might be able to get her phone number directly with the app Been Verified That was how I got my step-brother's phone number that I never talk to when a family member passed away. You can get one free search per month
MrsAxilla - Did you contact her brother yet? Update!
I don't think it's weird at all and I'm surprised so many others are so weirded out by it.
I emailed him and it bounced back. Whomp whomp. All this consternation for nothing!! His FB lists his home phone - is that okay?!? Why else would he list it?
A real estate agent who is not active on facebook and is advertising a false email address?
he's clearly not a real estate agent at all, he's some kind of spy
Yeah, something is fishy! He works(ed) for a large company, but had his own branch/office. I just searched the company's locator and he's not listed with them anymore. But he's still the top hit on Google, so the change must be recent.
So he closed up shop and disappeared, and she sold her house and disappeared. Maybe the whole family fled to Russia? Now I do need Doug Stamper!

At this point, I don't even care if it's appropriate or not. I need to know what's going on with your friend's family. So call him, lol.
