I don't have a cell phone, but I do have an open carry license. If a situation looks even a little sketchy, I just start firing. Nothing gets the cops there faster.
You really should get someone's address from here, so when you're locked up you can communicate with us. I'm worried about you. It sounds like it could happen at any time. You're a loose cannon.
don't worry. I've watched enough Lockup to know where to draw the line. Lol.
Have I ever told you guys that my attorney sister carefully screens my calls?
I just can't get all up in arms about this and for Christ sakes, don't involve the fucking police unless there is, you know, an actual police matter. Police involvement can cause irreparable damages to people. People need to understand that if you are born and raised in a major city, like I was, children take the bus, subways, go to parks and take their 6 month old sibling with them daily; it is not child neglect, it is life.I just want to throw my hands up.

i can't imagine calling the cops over something like this. It sounds like the 8 year old was paying good attention to the baby and the baby was happy in the swing. I'm not seeing the issue here really. Especially if Mom was right across the street.

I mean for all you know that 8 year old is the only one who cares for the baby. Maybe dad is beating the crap out of mom again, so big sis took the baby away from it. Maybe mom is on her way and they just headed over sooner. I probably would have talked to the girl before calling the police. Maybe found out if she lived nearby and if mom was on her way. I sure wouldn't bail so that no adults were there.
Derp, never mind, lol. I was like, WTF are you talking about realizing now that I have been memorized by the RHOBH reunion and clearly 4 pages behind. I will just KOKO
I can't really tell if a child is 8 or 12, especially if I don't interact with them. I was a Mother's Helper at 12 and took three kids to a park near the family's house all the time. Did the baby look unsafe in the swing? If so I probably would have said "hi, I think she may be uncomfortable" way before I 1) bailed or 2) called the police.
no I don't own a cell and we live half a block from the park.
go home and call then come back? I guess that's what I should have done
Neither you nor your husband own a cell? Okay, assuming that's true (not really, but I'll play along), you couldn't one of you stay at the park making sure the baby actually was being taken care of while the other one went home to call?
Personally, I wouldn't let my almost 8-year-old take a 6-month-old to the park, but I'm confused. Was one of the 13-year-olds actually in charge?
First of all why is it so hard to believe we don't have cell phones? second of all I have a child with special needs that is a 2 person job at the park. If she is not holding hands or strapped in she is taking off faster than I can move. AND IT'S FUCKING SCARY when you kid runs in the street. doesn't understand to stop for her own safety.
fuck it all I quit it's not like any one believes this shit actually happened. Or that I don't have a phone. to hell with it all at least I didn't send my baby to the park with a baby.

I 8ish I'm a horrible judge my self. she just looked too young to be caring for a child that size.

Gosh, you asked how ML feels about this, and you're getting answers. Don't have a cow, man.

Who (under the age of 60) doesn't own a cell phone in this day and age?!
Me and dh. we are a one income house we do not need extra bills
But what if something happened to your kid while you were out? dont give any identifying information - there are mandated reporters here. <<squinty eyes>>

go a head and not believe me that's fine I have not owned one since I was 19 I do not need to be gotten a hold of 24/7 and I have a land line so my phone works when the power is out. it's been that way ever since I have had kids. I pay one phone bill and I don't see the point in owning cell
Odd. My phone works when the power is out also.

what happens when your battery is Dead? does it work?
6 months old is the new 12 months old up in this joint. We've got 6 month olds saying mama and sitting upright in swings alone. Next thing we know, one will be running for goddamned president.
Don't landlines have to be plugged in? When our power goes out our phone goes out, too. It's connected to our Internet. So our cell is the only option.

I am so uncomfortable when I forget my cellphone. I am always convinced that THAT will be when my car breaks down, or I witness an accident, or someone in my family needs to reach me.

I am still waiting to hear your elephant sounds. 05heel
It sounds like "baroo." Except really nasal. Also, you hold your arm up by your face like a trunk.

Cordless ones need electricity, old school phones don't. I keep an older phone in the house for power outages, which rarely happen, they just need a phone jack.
I love learning things that I should have already known because I had a normal landline growing up.
