Really? It's about confidence? That's what night training is about?
Hrmmmmm *marks spreadsheet*
No. It's about her husband researched this, put all the effort into it and is executing his plan. If her DH was this un-supportive of something she believed in this board would not give that a pass.
You have reiterated your passionate belief, from your own experience, that night training before your personally deemed appropriate age to be foolish. That is your oft versed opinion. My toddler has been night trained since before 2. That is my experience and others as well in another thread a few days ago. It is possible. If he wants to try it and do the work then WHY DO YOU CARE?
I'm not sure why you take night training so personally. Every time it comes up, @tokenhoser is there to squash any hope anyone has that it is possible. So mark away.
Please, tell me more about how you feel about this and how your actions night trained your two year old.
well, it's because when kids are ready and you potty train them by day, some of them also are potty trained at night. My BFF has one of those, and I'm very happy for her.
But there's nothing to say or do. It happens, or it doesn't. It's not a technique or proof of superior parenting.

Oh, well, sure, I agree with that. But if somebody has some magical technique to night train my toddler, I'd sure like to hear it. Of course, I'd take a magical technique to day train him, too.

Ok so H just asked her if she needed to go and she went BY HERSELF and shut the door. We could hear her from the hallway and she peed!! ALL BY HERSELF - Put seat up, peed, flushed and washed hands!

THAT is awesome progress! DS is older than your DD I think, and I have to help with all those steps.

Yes until H realized she put so much paper in she clogged the toilet LOL. So no more unsupervised trips for her!

My magical technique for nighttime is to get pregnant and convince kid new baby needs all diapers. We boxed them up as a gift for new baby.

After not peeing at DC at all yesterday, he went on potty there 4 times today, had underwear on all day, and only 1 accident. Tonight at home, potty 2x and 2 accidents... soon after the first potty.

Haha, we tried that with pacifiers. No dice. Maybe diapers just need to disappear like pacifiers.

Tuesday and Wednesday Nods did great, with only like 3 accidents and 2 of those were poop.
Today she had several though and has been fighting getting get hands washed. I think she understands, but is kind of trying to see what she can get away with.
I'll drop this here, but now that ds1's constipation seems to be taken care of with the stool softeners (and a sudden willingness to eat pineapple) he's had a poop in the potty. That was our last hurdle before going to underwear (we wanted to give him no reason to hold it). Yesterday he stayed in the same pair from morning until bedtime! YAY!

Awesome!
I fear we won't be poop trained until DD drops her nap, as she's a sleep pooper

Yeah we'll be doing diapers at night for awhile yet I'm sure, like a year lol.

2 accidents at daycare, but while eating dinner she said she needed to go! I had to bust in on her as soon as she finished and stop her from putting half a roll of paper in the toilet.

Ok peeps, what should I do from here? Pertinent info: I will be home with DD for the next 2 weeks, but have activities planned - trip to baltimore, beach, etc.
Put her in a pull up when we'll be out of the house but keep taking her to the potty? Try a diaper cover? Training pants? Just KOKO and if she pees in the middle of the museum...?

I'd keep her in underwear, but to minimize the level of clean up, put plastic pants over them. Like, the old school kind that went over the old school cloth diapers. It'll contain the pee so you won't have to clean the carseat or where ever she was at the time. I never did this, but I've known people who have and I think it's genius.

Yeah I think I will do this. I ordered a bummis pull on diaper cover on amazon and until then will use the flip covers she's been wearing at daycare.
She woke up dry this morning, and I asked her to use the potty. She refused to go in the toilet, insisted on using the ikea potty we have out up on the roof deck, LOL.
So can a lurker ask a question? Will daycare give me a bag of shitty underwear or just toss them? They sometimes wash his soiled clothes for me but I imagine they won't wash poop.

We get bags of poop underwear. They used to at least try to clean it out, then one day told us it was against code (for cloth diapers too). We sent gallon zip lock bags to cut down on smell
We started in Saturday. He peed in his udis 5 times, never peed in the potty. Sunday, he had 3 accidents and then peed and pooped 9 times in the potty!
He went back to daycare yesterday and only peed and pooped at home, he held it the entire day. Today he wouldn't pee in the morning and I assume it will be the same as yesterday, only peeing at home.
This isn't going well. He is fighting it left and right which I am shocked at. Should we abandon ship and start again in a few weeks?
