I'm so sorry. My nephew has CP due to a stroke in utero. The good news is that is very mild. It affects his legs but he is able to walk and is otherwise a typical little boy. They have some amazing treatment options out there.
Thank you all. His rehab doc actually has CP too, and he is awesome.
It's just a lot to process. Like, our house is the least accessible house possible. And how am I going to deal with keeping up with his therapy homework when working full time?
I have my annual review at work tomorrow so given my shit luck I assume I'll be fired.
Oh, sweetie. SO many hugs. Just to reiterate what has been said already, this does not change the fact that Master P is still the stinking adorable, fabulous, perfectly imperfect little dude he was before the doc said those two little words and he will continue to kick ass and take names because he has the best damn family in the world by his side to make sure he gets whatever help he needs. Having a dx in place, even if it's tentative, will help open so many doors for you guys for services and other forms of assistance if and when he needs it.
I am so sorry, Brie. I just wanted to reiterate what many posters have said, that even with this diagnosis, P will continue to be your awesome littlest man and go places in life. One day at a time.

Breath. First ((hugs)) having your kid get this kind of diagnosis is hard but it does get easier (some days still suck though) Second please feel free to hop over to the then comes family and join in on the special needs board we'd love to have you. 3) you'll figure out working in therapy, it may not be ideal but you'll get it done. 4) don't stress about the house for now. You have time to figure it out before it's an issue, deal with adjusting to this first.
