Proposal/Engagement:
We started talking about getting married in early 2009 (after a couple of years living together), and I was impatiently waiting for a proposal. I expected it to happen on a special day. All the special days passed by; NYE, V-Day, my B-day, our dating anniversary, etc. Then it was my then-BF's B-day, the one day I didn't expect it because it was HIS day.
H proposed after dinner at John Howie Steak House for his birthday. Once we returned to our apartment, he opened his birthday presents from me and his family.
He told me that he had one more present, but it was for both of us. H left me in the living room of our apartment and went to his side of the closet in the bedroom. He came back, went down on one knee, and my eyes were closed. He told me I could open my eyes, and he asked me to marry him. I don't remember exactly what he said, but eventually I said "Of course!" Then I told him to put the ring on my finger, because I'm bossy like that

Wedding:
I knew our wedding date before we were even officially engaged, because we had talked earlier about wanting to get married in 2011, and our dating anniversary fell on a Saturday in 2011. We got married on our 7th dating anniversary, May 7, 2011.
So after an 18 month and 17 day engagement we were SO ready to be married!
It rained, and rained, and rained on our wedding day. BUT the day was still AWESOME and soooo fun. We had our wedding in Stanwood, WA at Tazer Valley Farm. We had about 90 guests. We served BBQ food for dinner and served beer and wine (and non-alcohol options ). We had an I-Pod "DJ," and cupcakes instead of tiered cake to save money. It was the perfect rustic/vintage themed Barn Party that I wanted.
Here are some wedding photos I don't think I've AWed before: My reaction after the ceremony and realizing I no longer had to plan anything or be responsible for anything that day ( I  DOCs):
Our favors were home-brew We used an engagement photo for the label:

Honeymoon:
We went to Maui for a week. We stayed at the Royal Lahaina. We went on a booze cruise, did a luau, got a breakfast buffet, and 2 mai tais a day through a Costco Travel deal we bought. We did a lot of outdoor stuff to look at all the awesome scenic stuff, including driving the Road to Hana.
Here are a couple of photos: Me enjoying my first free Mai Tai, (sans any makeup, because I was on vacation mode ) :
If you were given $5M tax free, what would you do with it? Who would you rather die first, you or H? Death row meal? If you had to switch places with a Nextie for a day who would it be? Ever been arrested? Bonus points if you tell us why. Who's more outgoing, you or H? Funnier? Last time you cried? What was it over? Who's going to win the healthy challenge? Take 2nd? Dream car? Between a full time chef, stylist, driver, nanny, personal trainer, masseuse or errand runner (who only did those jobs) which one (you only get 1!) would you pick and why? If you had to pick a Nextie sister wife who would it be? Ideal place to live in the US? Ideal place to live abroad? All time favorite vacation spot? Least favorite vacation spot? If money were no object and it were feasible, would you go to the moon? Obama, Romney or are you leaving for Canada? Realistic job you would be really good at? Realistic job you would be really bad at? If your house was burning down what 5 things would you grab? Can't be the practical stuff like pets, insurance papers, ID, etc... If you were to host a dinner for any 5 people in the world (dead or alive) who would they be? Who would be catering said soiree? Have you ever tried to Nair something you shouldn't have? Would you ever consider plastic surgery? If so, what? What's worse, biting your tongue or stubbing your toe? Please rank the teams of the Pac 12 in order of awesomeness. How did you decide that you wanted to go to UW?

Death row meal? A twice baked potato with lots of butter, chives, four different cheeses, and sour cream. A huge mug of Boundary Bay's seasonal Black IPA. Grilled salmon stuffed with dungeness crab. And a ginormous portion of Cupcake Royal's Deathcake (usually only available during V-day season).

Between a full time chef, stylist, driver, nanny, personal trainer, masseuse or errand runner (who only did those jobs) which one (you only get 1!) would you pick and why? If I could only choose one, full time chef because I don't like cooking and it would save tons of time.

If you had to pick a Nextie sister wife who would it be? LL, she seems like she has the working mom thing down and could teach me a lot, and seems drama-free which is a huge :Y: for me.

All time favorite vacation spot? I really haven't vacationed that much, but I've visited Savannah, GA a few times and I love the general "feel" of the area.
((psst, I care but probably can't play until late this afternoon...I have to go open envelopes in another department this morning, away from my desk/pc)))

If your house was burning down what 5 things would you grab? Can't be the practical stuff like pets, insurance papers, ID, etc... Wedding ring, KitchenAid mixer, the TJ chocolate potato chips I'm saving for after the challenge, wedding dress, and a bunch of my dog's treats so he follows me out!

If you were to host a dinner for any 5 people in the world (dead or alive) who would they be? Who would be catering said soiree? The Duchess of Cambridge (Kate), Jeff Goldblum, Louis CK, Lisa Lampanelli, and Hillary Clinton. It would be catered by Anthony Bourdain.
