rugbywife, we thought hard about it but we just can't afford a SFH in your city so heading east it is and this way I'll be able to keep working. And we can get a SFH in the mid 300s.
Funny story. I have an OB appointment tomorrow, my c/s incision is still bothering me 3 months later. I told DS "remember the big boo boo in my tummy after baby sister came? It still hurts, so I'm going to the doctor." DS thought about it really hard and said "did the doctor use safety scissors on your tummy?"
Speaking of PP healing...I healed up just fine. So much for all my freaking out. Guess those trained medical professionals do know what they are doing!!!
bearbaby wow! the real question is - did either of the grandparents send out their own baby announcements?
LOL - newp. No rogue baby announcements.
Though I did have to deactivate my FB wall weeks prior to DS' arrival because my FIL has no qualms making everything ever about him always, so I knew he wouldn't follow our rules about not posting online
In fact, he'd made a slideshow of pictures of my niece he would show everyone, which included mostly pictures ripped off of my SIL's FB page - often times with people he had no idea who they were in them. This is the primary reason I post very few pics of DS online.
Yet another crappy night of sleep in the Dubs house. DS keeps waking himself up coughing and thus waking the rest of the house. Every hour.
He's had a slight wheeze, but his inhaler has it under control. So his only symptom is a cough. Seems silly to go to the pedi for a cough. But damn if something magical could help and we could get some sleep? That would be lovely.
I think I'm in the same city as you, Jennyanydots - wow, that storm was a humdinger (I just had to use that word, couldn't resist the opportunity)! I'm sorry you guys ended up with trouble from it.
We only ended up with a couple of tomato plants down, so this morning I went out with some string to tie them back up. Sure enough, when I closed the patio screen door, DS came along, closed the sliding glass door, and then put the wooden dowel in the door - little monkey locked me out! I know I looked like an idiot out there in my pj's knocking on the glass, and talking and gesturing at DS to try to get him to open it. I was actually amazed that he did.
It's times like this I'm glad we have a combination lock on the front door, since I know worse case scenario I can do a walk of shame and go around front to let myself in.
bearbaby that is freaking awesome. It reminds me of this older couple we know at the beach who redid their house. The whole "attic" is a play room and sleep area for their grandkids. It is freaking amazing (although not as cool as yours). We keep asking if they want to be adopted grandparents to M.
Today is my Monday- enough said.
Oh and my dog literally melted on Sunday. We were all outside on the deck in the shade for the most of the day and when I went to go feed him he would barley lift his head. Brought him inside and he laid in the AC for 10 minutes and perked up. I felt bad. The other dog was completely fine. This one has always been a little special. :-)
I mentioned to you guys that I got in a fender bender, and insurance paid to replace my car seats. DD's new KeyFit arrived yesterday, so I washed the seat pad and headrest. I just put them back on, so her seat's all ready to go. The canopy has a new pop-out sunshade that her old KeyFit didn't have. Cool!
I've never washed any car seat parts before using.
I also had a great time at the NKOTB concert last night but OMG I feel like a zombie today! I think I got about 3.5 hours of sleep. Today already started out bad and I feel like it's not going to get any better
I just ordered $400 worth of shoes from Zappos yesterday in an effort to find a pair of sneakers that both fit DD and meet with her high standards of fashion. They will be here tomorrow and then the trying-on fest begins. Must have a pair that works before she leaves for camp on Sunday.
Am also kind of freaking out about everything else that needs to be done to get her ready, including more coaching on how to get $#%^ing knots out of her long hair.

I thought you weren't supposed to, so I've never done it either.
This is the second day with the babysitter and it's SO much nicer having someone come to my house in the mornings rather than having to pack DD and all of her things up to drop her off. We're so lucky that my mom is keeping her this summer, but drop offs are going to get even more involved and time consuming when she starts daycare in August. I wish I could talk DH into a nanny because it would make my life so much easier, but he balks at the cost.
This is one reason I am kind of glad that the Bright Horizons around me really screws parents over on the PT rates. Per hour, it only comes to 45 cents more per hour for us to have a nanny, so that's what we're going back to in the fall. That differential is completely worth it to have someone come to my house and to not lose work time dropping off and picking up DS from day care.
If the cost differential were more (which it would have been for FT rates), it might not have been worth it.
Excited for coffee with chickens987 and @marshmallows!
H thinks I need stop to buying stuff off our neighbors because we have no storage space until we move in August. But the Crate & Barrel bar cart was free! And now we can have a tv in our bedroom! 42" smart tv for only $200. How could I turn that down?
The neighbors brought over some strawberries the other day, so I'm getting ready to make this cake. We ate it a million times last year. It's so good. I have to modify it to be dairy-free, so hopefully it still works...

I woke up because of the storm at 5:15. Our power was out for probably two minutes, and it felt like an eternity. I have 400+ oz of BM in my freezer, and five weeks until the baby turns one. DONT MAKE ME RAMP UP THE PUMPING AGAIN. It was a stressful two minutes.
I just got scolded by a coworker for speeding. Apparently she was driving behind me on the way to work (not unusual, we drive almost exactly the same way), and after a stoplight she never saw me again. Oops? lol
Our gate is broken and needs to replaced. As I was biking home, I noticed my neighbors taking down their fence. I asked them for their gate, and they gave it to me. Problem solved.
It is afternoon already here. DD went to a farm today with her daycare, I can't wait to see if she liked it. Also our electricity went out in our apartment about 2 hours ago...grr. Someone is coming over in the next 30 minutes, hopefully it is a fast fix. Glad to be a renter today...just texted our landlord and it is being taken care of.
Just had to email DH to ask for more help around the house. I know he's tired but so am I and I wish he would do his chores w/o me having to remind him because it makes things so much harder on me to try to keep up with DS, the house and third tri.
You guys. I am in CE all day today. The person next to me is trying to recruit me to his MLM selling weight loss chocolate. Did you know he is going to make more on this next year than selling real estate? 100k this year, 300k next year! I pretended not to have a business card with me when he asked then he pulled an index card out of his pocket for my #. I debated giving a fake name and #, lol, then realized there are several other people who know me here and also my name is on my paper. Crap.

We are going to a waterpark/splash pad this morning with some friends. I am so excited. It doesn't open until 11 though so Lane is taking a nap now. He normally naps at noon-ish, so hopefully this will extend him out a little.
I want to be productive today but it's hot and I did a lot yesterday, so I am vegging out right now while DD watches Daniel Tiger. I also just had another piece of my birthday cake
I've decided I want to try and really limit what I buy the remainder of this year. As DD was playing outside this morning I realized she has pretty much everything she could want. I know I feel the same way... And I could make H feel the same way I just know I enjoy experiences and trips more than stuff these days, so I want to continue that with DD. I don't remember any of the toys I had but I remember our trips and playing outside.
Why does Curious George sometimes live in the city and sometimes live in the country? Is it their summer home or something? @supergreen. First half of the episode was donuts in the city, second half is grape juice on the rug in the country.
DD is fighting us on EVERYTHING right now. Such a PITA.
