Unreal: on Lifetime but surprisingly really good. If you like The Bachelor/ette, you'll LOVE this. It's a fictional show about the making of a Bachelor-like show called "Enchanted" that is basically exactly like TB. Really, really good. You can catch the first few episodes (I think there are 5) on Prime. .
. I never watch the Bachelor/ette, so I was surprised by how much I like this. My husband told me this morning that it got renewed for a second season, so I'm wondering if it'll be a new season of Enchanted or if they'll just keep going with this batch.
This show is the BEST. It took me far too long to figure out the main girl is Natalia from Girls
chickens987, you are good people. You helping her is one of those moments she will remember for the rest of her life.
@savestheday, chicken caesar salad. It's low carb, filling bc of the fat, and looks low maintenance in case you care about that.
I am kicking ass today. It's 9:30 and I'm sitting at my desk. So far today I have:
- washed and dried one load of laundry and put another load in the washer (nothing folded, though!)
- taken a spin class, in which I excelled, despite being sore from my personal training session from last night
- gotten DD ready for water day at daycare, which included slathering her wiggly self with sunblock and negotiating over bathing suits/coverup options. Also picking out an outfit for her to wear later with her approval
- toured an aftercare facility for the fall when she starts prek
- then commuted to work, obviously
Good luck today, @notquiteblushing!
It's at a Mexican place. I think I will get the Cobb salad ' the side of sliced avocado & just pick around the corn. I hope the girl I'm meeting isn't like WOoo Hoo let's get chips & margs!!!
We have a new person in our office who brought in the most amazing cupcakes this morning. Double chocolate with a chocolate European buttercream icing. OMG SO GOOD. She used to be a pastry chef/baker in a previous career.
I worked with a gourmet baker for several years and she never once brought anything into the office, folks were stuck with my box mix brownies!

That's crazy that she never brought anything in!!
And hey, some of the box brownies are pretty darn good.

We got back late last night from spending a long weekend at the ILs. Their place is in the middle of nowhere, which meant an Internet connection slower than dial up, and a 1.5 hour drive to any sort of activity or sightseeing. OMG, I am so glad to be back home.
The good part of the trip was that, at 17 months, DD now has her second word - cat, thanks to chasing around IL's cat the whole time we were there. Actually, she doesn't say cat, she whispers catcatcat instead. Now we have a month to get her saying 3 more words to get her up to the recommended 5 word minimum before her 18 month appointment.
The bad part was that one of the 1.5 hour drives we took while there was to see H's grandmother. She is in the end stages of Alzheimer's, and doesn't seem like she has much time left. We could only get her to wake up for at most 30 seconds at a time, but at least she seemed happy when she met DD during those 30 seconds of lucidity. Possibly flammable opinion, I am glad my grandparents are all gone, so I am past the point of watching them go through that end of life stage. While it hurts that none of them got to meet DD (my last grandmother died when I was ~6 months pregnant), I can't even think about seeing any of them like that now.
