Nobody wants you dead, come on. I'm guessing the glaring inconsistencies and lies were noted by some, and shared with others as they wondered what in the hell you were talking about here vs. social media, as the 2 scenarios were quite different.
But why does it matter?
Why do YOU need to know?
Why, why, why?
Do you feel better? Do you feel mightier? Do you feel validated that I'm just some lunatic who gets what she deserves and that's doesn't include travel, success, or happiness.
And here and social are still no IN REAL LIFE!
I find it pretty rich that someone who works in social media claims that it's all a game, and not a reflection of real life. You should be working on authenticity and trust - i.e. getting people to see you as REAL on social media.
I don't understand how what bliss says is "not real life," but when we say things we're supposed to remember she's a "real person."
I have been trying to stay away from the bliss rerun programing, but I was thinking about this "real" comment of hers on the commute in this morning.
Bliss: you want to be treated like a real person, then be a real person.
You have grown significantly in your time here. Your career growth has been amazing, really. What you have done, by starting up as independent contractor, is a brave step and a difficult challenge. It is a risk many don't have the courage to take (myself included). You have no clue how many people here are cheering you on and wish you the best. People that you haven't pissed off with your fakeness over the years really do try to help and offer you support here--to the point that some of us roll our eyes at them for bothering. No one here wants you to die. And I wont speak for everyone, but at least the majority don't think they are "better" than you. Some of us even have respect for you for your ambition and courage to do what you have done.
However...we are not idiots. Some have done what you have done. Some have been in the business world long enough to have seen others do it. Some are just savvy about reality. When you come here posting about how everything is 100% rosy, never been better, no problems, no issues, you are rolling in work/money, etc, you are insulting our intelligence whether you get that or not. This is why people cling to your inconsistencies and lies.
Running a start-up is hard. Being a contractor is hard. Starting a small business is hard. Most fail in the first year. Most are not profitable in the first years. People here know that. People here know that getting paid and getting paid anywhere close to on time are usually more difficult challenges for an independent contractor than finding clients is. I've seen large accounting firms/Fortune 50 firms regularly take 9-12 weeks to pay contractor invoices. It sucks, but is reality. Dealing with inconsistent income is one of main reason most people don't go that route.
If you want to be treated as "real", pretending that your venture somehow doesn't face any of the real issues in any industry and everything is always perfect is not the way to do it.
Real people have ups and downs. Start-ups usually have far more downs than ups. Pretending/declaring that the downs don't exist, when we all know they do (without some of us even bothering to read anything about you outside of this board) is insulting to everyone. You want people to treat you like you are "real", then you actually need to be "real".
