We are debating between an addition on the beach house or our house. Getting plans done and just figuring which makes sense to do now. We have always planned on doing them and now need to figure which is first.
We're pricing out a massive exterior renovation right now. All new windows and doors, real veneer stone, cement board, and a covered porch with deck made out of composite. Hoping we can DIY that all next summer or the year after that.
We are having a bunch of new windows installed next week, replacing the ones that were badly designed/installed by the original builder (not even 10 years ago) and leaking and destroyed. Of course we had to search high and low for someone who would make them for us since they are all weird sizes and do complicated things like wrap around the side of the building. And of course for the cost of this we could take a really (REALLY) nice vacation.

Well, I just had to write a check for $97k and change to close my house last week... I will be poor for a while! I do need to buy new fencing for the horse corral area before I can bring my girl home! I expect it be around $4-5k
A new car. The 2016 Toyota Highlander XLE. I am so excited!!
I'm jealous! We have our eye on one but have to get through building our house and closing first.
how much time is left until it's finished?? I can't wait, I am so ready to get out of my jeep. It's slowly dying so hopefully it lasts long enough to get the one we want in!
Down payment for the construction of our new home, to be followed soon by...a new washer and dryer, refrigerator, bedroom sets for DDs, mattress for our bed, flat screen tv (yep, we don't own one yet), media console, and um...landscaping.
We just installed engineered hardwood in place of our carpet so our bank account is currently looking sad from that. Therefore I have no big purchases planned for a while.
$800 on some siding and wood repairs anytime--just waiting to find out what day the repairman wants to do it.
New tires and breaks for my car. I need to make the appointment next week
And my sisters and I need to get a number of things done to my dad's house before we can sell--new bathroom, all new flooring and paint all walls. Pro tip: don't smoke in the house!
My yard needs serious help too, but I've probably waited to long for that.
We just moved into our house and set aside a bit of money to do some changes to make it our house. All of my big purchases for the next year are going to be house related.
1. Rebuild the fireplace so it has built-in bookcases, a mantel and some stone. Right now it is just a fireplace on a flat wall with four large tiles outlining so it looks pretty plain.
2. Build a fence in the backyard and stairs from the deck to the grass.
3. New living room furniture. Ours looks so gross and dated in our new house.
We lease a Nissan Leaf through a crazy good deal due to tax rebates in our state. The vehicle is coming off least at end of year and I think we are going to purchase it. I love the car and I love not having to go to the gas station, I can just plug it into the garage power outlet.
Oh geez. We've bled so much money on unexpected expenses that we've had to put planned purchases on hiatus this year.
I'd guess maybe a new dining room table. I've been wanting one for a year+ and finally found one I love. Once we save up I think that'll be next. Otherwise a powder room redo.
I would really like to build our dining table by Christmas since I want to have a neighborhood open house. Want to buy the chairs to go with it too. Also, finish tiling bathroom- we already have the tile, just need to buy the glass shower door & the master bathroom will be done.
Come again?! Do you have a pic of what you're doing?

In the short term, DH and I are going on our first adults-only vaca after having J. In the 2-ish year plan is to sell our house and buy something bigger.
We are completely redoing our master bedroom and have already bought a king mattress, bed, all new bedding, new mirror, curtain rods, bedside tables, and lamps. Next comes a new dresser, curtains, and a rug.
Unfortunately I also have to repaint the whole room. I would gladly decorate all day, I'm tired of painting.
