Congrats on your little girl! I'm sorry her entry into the world was so scary. NICUs are amazing places so I'm sure she's in the very best hands. Make sure to take care of yourself as well. I hope she'll be home with you soon!
Wow that is crazy! I know you and I had close due dates this pregnancy and I can't imagine going into labor so soon. I'm sorry it wasn't what you expected, but congratulations on your little girl! Your family will be in my thoughts.
Congratulations on your baby girl and I'm sending thoughts and prayers to her.
I can't imagine how scary that whole experience must have been, and in a blizzard to boot. I think this will be one of those family lore stories in a few years!
Thank you everyone. It means a lot to read your kind words.
Muddled No, I haven't been able to hold her yet. She does curl her little fingers around my one which is the closest we've gotten to bonding. Hopefully in the next few days I can hold her.
mskitkat It really is insane! I hope you're doing well though!
countthestars She's still nameless. We thought we had time!
Holy cow - congrats and special Ts & Ps for your little miracle. Thank goodness for good responders in such conditions.
Special hugs for the NICU experience. We were only there for a week, but I expect you'll have your LO there longer. The nurses there are usually THE BEST. I suspect your in the hospital now, not sure if you'll be discharged before your LO. Hugs.
Congratulations, friend. I am so sorry it wasn't the timing or birth you (or anyone) was expecting. It sounds like your little girl is a fighter! Anecdote: My cousin had her boy at 24wks and he is a happy 6 year old.
Please make sure to take care of yourself. Baby is in good hands (and hopefully yours very very soon!).

Congrats! My heart stopped for a second when I saw you had posted this - what an amazing story but I'm so glad everyone is doing well! Sending so many good thoughts to baby girl and your whole family!
Congratulations, and you're going to have a great story to tell her later!
I love 31 week babies. They're bitty, yes, but most of them do very well. She will be in great hands in the NICU. And for my anecdote, a friend of mine had twins at 29 weeks and they're healthy happy 3 year olds.
Congratulations! My DD was also born at 31 weeks, she was 3 lbs 12 oz. We spent a month in the NICU waiting for her to be able to eat on her own. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask.
Congratulations again!
ETA - I had contractions a few weeks before DD was actually born, so she had time to receive steroids, and later on during another scare, magnesium as well, and we were still told to be prepared to be in the NICU for 4 - 5 weeks. My only advice here is as much as you're going to want her home, don't rush it, since she won't be able to go back. When she's ready, you'll bring home a beautiful little fighter.
