a) We have more than enough fodder for Trump to photo shop him and make fun of his looks. b) That he was made to look like the actor from Goonies makes me wonder what that actor thinks. And it makes me feel sad. I guess I'm not supposed to feel bad by proxy for people, but it does.
The actor who played Sloth did not look like that irl. He was wearing prosthetic makeup. He also died in the late 80's so he's not around to see Trump morphed into the most famous character he played. So at least there's that I guess.

Trump is such a disrespectful, sexist, racist pig that if my husband supported him, I think I would wonder if my husband had some deep-seated misogyny or racism that I should know about.

He's completely heartless and vile. If you haven't seen it yet, I encourage you (universal you) to see the documentary You've Been Trumped. It's available on Hulu.

I 100% would divorce my h for supporting trump. Like, if you want to support a racist dick bag you are entitled, but I am not required to put up with it.
In the defense of MH, not that there is much of a defense, he supports his position as a business man and thinks that is what this country needs. He's not a news watcher per se or anything like that, so I'm not even sure if he knows how much of a giant ass that he is. But, I refuse to engage, so unless he's going to research it more on his own, I'd rather just leave it alone.

Agree with A but LOLOLOLOLOL on B. You know the actor doesn't actually look like that, right? It was make-up?
I didn't!
Should I go make a post about this lack of knowledge in that other post?
This hasn't come up in this thread, but I'm interested in opinions here. Full disclosure, I sit on the R side of the fence, but like PP Rs up thread, hate all our candidates and was planning to vote HRC in the general.
The news today is reporting a lot about the possibility of an HRC indictment coming and coming sooner than expected. Some of it may be fear mongering, but there actually may be some validity based on some of these reports. I have not spoken to anyone that may have any specific knowledge as I know they couldn't honestly tell me either way - my info is just from published sources. First, what do you all think is the likelihood of that and two, if it happens, What the hell do we do if that happens?! I am truly scared shitless about the entire election and she was my only ray of hope here. WTAF.
Based on the latest info that 7 e-mail threads are secret and can't be released it is certainly possible that charges could be brought and sooner rather then later. Especially knowing the election is coming I would hope they'd do whatever they are going to do ASAP so we don't end up with a mess 2 months after the election.
If that happens? I honestly don't know WTF I will do. Depends on what happens after if someone else steps in in time to get the nom that I can live with then I might vote for them. If not I may not vote for the first time since 2000.

No, fuck that. Don't leave it alone. Make SURE your husband knows what a megalomaniacal, bigoted dickhag this guy is. This isn't just a difference in political opinion. Trump espouses blatantly racist, nativist views. THE FUCKING KKK THINKS HE IS A GREAT RECRUITING TOOL FOR JESUS' SAKE.
Does your H think that the economy is more important than the rights of other human beings? Because that's what his support of Trump tells others. Tell him that. Uncover the truth here.

I don't care if he doesn't support him outside of your home. If he's thinking Trump is an acceptable option even inside the walls of his brain, I would need to know that as his wife.
All snark aside, I can't imagine not being able to have open, in-depth conversations on things politically related with my husband. It would feel like a pretty superficial relationship if we just glossed over anything potentially uncomfortable feeling.

I'm not saying that it won't happen or is necessarily not going to happen, but the statement that he "thinks" the FBI director wants to indict is coming from a congressman who previously led the Benghazi investigation.

Right. The one who is pushing for even more closed door hearings because the public ones turned into a triumph for Hillary and an embarrassment for them.

This is actually great, I mean, a great point for me to make to my H. I keep most of my ranting about Trump on FB since we don't really discuss it at home, but I know that my H reads what I say. My next status may be something to this effect.
I really do think that the country benefits tremendously from politicians with experience in the private sector, and there absolutely is and should continue to be a place for fiscally conservative political leaders, because I think we suffer without balance of some kind. But, to me, the current state of our economy is not nearly as problematic or as broken as the xenophobic, highly segregated and super fucking bigoted population that has been so vocal these last few years. I can't respect a president who doesn't respect anyone other than white males who agree with him.
Also, even though he is successful in dealing with microeconomics does not mean he will do well with macroeconomics. It's a completely different skill set.
I wish Facebook was still in the "Becky is...." format for status updates. Then I could do this all the time like "Becky is COME THE FUCK ON, JOHN, WHY HAVEN'T YOU PICKED YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY OFF THE FLOOR?" or "Becky is SORRY YOU'RE SUCH AN IDIOT, JOHN."
Also, even though he is successful in dealing with microeconomics does not mean he will do well with macroeconomics. It's a completely different skill set.
The thing is, he isn't good at any economics. He's declared bankruptcy repeatedly and was given a bunch of money by his family. He's not good at anything except being a blowhard.

Wanting a candidate for President because he or she is a "businessman" has to be one of the biggest logic fails. Businesses are inherently self-serving. I don't want a businessman in charge of our roads, our sewers, our SCHOOLS. CEOs are beholden to shareholders. Making changes as a business is a hell of a lot simpler than trying to enact legislative change when your party doesn't hold the majority in the Senate or the House.
And let's not even touch on how being a businessman doesn't qualify a person to be a foreign representative of the country to the world.
I think people are forgetting politics is a skill. You can't just put an empty suit in the Oval Office and expect miracles. But I think that's what a lot of Trump supporters think will happen.
I don't understand people who like Trump and a businessman and want that for the country. Trump deliberately ran companies into bankruptcy because he was personally shielded from the losses. Other investors and creditors bore the burden. Exactly how is that going to work for the country?

pixy0stix I'm curious if there's been anyone on CEP that has come out in support of Trump? Has anyone seen any support for him on the boards?
In the anonymous poll conducted yesterday (link) there are five people voting for Trump. No one is claiming him publicly as their first choice, although people are saying they would vote for him over Cruz or if he ends up being the Rep nominee.
