I keep reassuring myself that you can't win without women and minorities. Trump can win all of the white male vote and still not have enough to even come close.
Thank god my passport is up to date so I can flee to Canada.
Do you actually plan to go to Canada? Like, really truly? If not, why is this such a thing to say? I have seen tons of people saying this on FB and I don't get it.

I hate Trump and Cruz both and am glad he's dropping out because he scares the ever loving shit out of me, but why did he announce Carly Fiorina as his running mate just days before dropping out? It's weird. I'm suspicious. I don't know what I'm suspicious of, but I'm suspicious of something.

We would legitimately consider moving to Costa Rica. We have family there.
It's not so much Trump as President as it is a majority that would elect him as President that would prompt the move. Terrifying.

My guess was he was hoping she would increase his chances in Indiana, to get the women's vote.

I would for real want to disassociate myself from the United States if Trump were president. But no, I wouldn't actually move.

You all need to read Philip Roth's Plot Against America. It's a novel with an alternative history in which Charles Lindbergh - a notorious xenophobic anti-semite - defeats FDR in the 1940 election after running a campaign based on his personal success story. He keeps America out of the war and all sorts of horrible things happen.
In real life, Lindbergh was part of a movement that had the slogan "America First." You know, the same one that Trump espoused in his foreign policy speech.

It's so hard to even begin to comprehend that Trump is the last man standing for the GOP. I feel like it's the twilight zone or something.
I know he has no shot, but Kasich is still technically in this, right? Did I miss an announcement? I thought he was just letting Cruz try to take Indiana, but not dropping out entirely.

Kasich is technically still in. But it looks certain that Donald will have enough votes to win on the first ballot of the convention.
Oh and a patient, woman from South America mind you, came into our office and told us all that we better vote for Trump. What? Do you know he doesn't like you?

I still think the Republicans will try to do something to keep Donald from being the nominee. I don't know what, but the establishment Republicans hate him, right?
I am scared this is because the party is ready to embrace Trump. Cruz's only chance was a contested convention and I think he may have dropped out because the party told him that even if Trump didn't hit his delegates there wouldn't be a second ballot.
I mean the choice between the two is just a choice of which devil is better but I think I was holding out some hope that the Republican Party would try and right this fucked up ship at the convention. This was stupid of me of course but when it is the fate of the county I try and be an optimist.

That's been my impression. They basically have two choices - implode the party by nominating someone else (but potentially protecting their control in the down ticket races) or risk control of the House and Senate by listening to the primary results and nominating Trump while trying to keep the party intact with spirit gum and crossed fingers.

Trump is almost certain to have enough votes to win on the first ballot. Nothing they can do to stop him if that happens.
