I've started thinking about every upcoming date as being pre or post election. Parent Teacher Conferences, pre. Doctor appointment post. Next time I have to see DH's racist side of the family, post. Club breakfast, pre.
I'm done.
This is me. This has been terrible for my anxiety.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I am very worried about the aftermath. Trump isn't going anywhere and he will have an epic tantrum over this. I hate that my thinking has come down to this but I am afraid of violence from some in his base. I think I will be able to relax once we peacefully get through the inauguration.
This is what I'm more concerned about. He's worked some of these nutjobs up into a froth of rage, and if he ends up losing (especially with his talk about rigged elections) I could see some pockets of violence breaking out in the country.
Yes. My mom and I were driving past several Trump signs today and talking about post-election violence. We agree that there are too many people who have felt empowered and validated by Trump's campaign to stay silent. I keep thinking of that lady who told Pence there would be a revolution if Trump lost. 😳
I've driven past 3 Hillary for Prison signs this weekend. One yard had a giant sign that was clearly painted by hand with some manifesto on how HRC is ruining the world. I couldn't read it all as we drove past(and wouldn't have anyway). I'm just so entirely over this whole election. I'm pretty sure he's going to win my area but thankfully Chicago always pulls IL to the Democrats.
FWIW I live in Toledo, Ohio. Two Hillary volunteers have knocked on my door, zero Trump. There are 8 Hillary signs within 5 blocks of my house, 2 Trump.
I think she's expected to lose Ohio (right?) But I'm seeing so much more pro-Hillary where I am so it's keeping my hopes up.
There is one scheduled event in PA this week (as of now and the campaign schedule I could find). I'm taking that as a good sign. Their internal polling would tell them by now if they needed to sure up PA. If PA is still inside the firewall, we're good.
And I have never felt comfortable about PA from the start (is it Lauren or Katie comes in after I do my chicken little dance about PA to remind us all of the last time PA did not go blue?) so if I'm not worrying. Not yet at least.
So even if Abedin logged onto her yahoo account just once on Weiners computer they would find it right? What's the likelihood that she didn't do that? Pretty slim right? I will say I have never logged onto my email on any of H's devices but I think that's unusual.
I'm assuming she didn't turn it over because it wasn't "her device"?!?!

Hahaha. PA last went blue in 1988 to elect George HW Bush, but like the whole country did that too, so...
The Western PA blue collar white people are really throwing me off though. Even scarier are the Scrantonians; those guys went blue in 2012, and they seem to be trending Trump this year. But Trump voters are less likely to vote in general, so it's a really hard thing to work into a poll correctly.
However. Trump has cratered completely with Philly and the populous Philly suburbs. Not even Ivanka can save him there. Or Melania (she's giving a speech in the Philly burbs on Thursday).
Given the polling lead HRC has now, I feel comfortable with PA, and I'm more than happy for Trump to waste his time there. I trust that HRC's data operation is far more robust than is Trump's. They flat out told interviewers that their numbers look like 538's, so why they'd send him to Colorado, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Michigan is just beyond me.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm just north of Evanston and all I've seen are Clinton signs.

I've basically tuned out all election news going forward. I'm not giving it any more of my time or emotions. Of course, I'll look at any breaking news stories, but trying to analyze poll data at this point is just going to be a fucking waste of time. I'm voting, and on November 8th what will be will be. I refuse to get whipped into a frenzy at this point.
Nevada Nevada’s early voting looks encouraging for Clinton. Obama won the state by 6.7 percentage points in 2012. So, far 7.4 percentage points more Democrats have voted by mail or in-person statewide. At the end of 2012 early voting, Democrats outpaced Republicans by 6.8 percentage points.
North Carolina If the polls are right that Clinton has a slight North Carolina lead, which the early vote indicates is narrowing, the election will likely come down to unaffiliated registered voters (they lean Clinton by 9 points).
Colorado 697,414 people have voted so far as of Friday’s report from the Secretary of State’s office. That’s about a quarter of the votes cast in the 2012 presidential election. Registered Democrats lead Republicans by 27,316 votes, or 3.9 percentage points.
Florida as of yesterday Republicans led Democrats by 23,446 mail and in-person early votes, or 0.7 percentage points. At this same point in 2012 after the first day of in-person early voting, Republicans led by 23,794, or 1.5 percentage points. Given the close polling in the state, I expect that the early vote will not provide a definitive signal as to the outcome, and that the Election Day vote could change the direction of the election.
Iowa If there is perhaps a glimmer for hope among Democrats is that there is incremental improvement on ballot returns (although ballot requests show a slight decline), and while Republicans are about even on their ballot requests, they are under-performing on their ballot returns. Maybe this will be enough for Clinton, but Iowa still looks to be the best state for Trump to flip from 2012.
Ohio I think Trump has a slight edge here, but if improvement continues in Cuyahoga and Franklin during the coming week, Ohio may go down to the wire.
Clinton's GoTV effort is intense in Cuyahoga County. I have a Clinton sign in my yard and I've still been visited 3 times, just making sure that I'm voting and to encourage me to vote early. I would love to vote early but I just can't. I get multiple calls a day too.
Anyway, if they're doing that in Franklin County, I think we might be surprised by Ohio on Election Day. I feel like there are a lot of quiet supporters here outside of Cuyahoga County, too.
FWIW I live in Toledo, Ohio. Two Hillary volunteers have knocked on my door, zero Trump. There are 8 Hillary signs within 5 blocks of my house, 2 Trump.

Toledo and Cleveland are the two Democrat holdouts in Ohio. Even Columbus has gone Republican because of all the outlying areas encroaching and the Republican government seated there. Youngstown is somewhat Dem because steelworkers and unions but they're leaning more R because steelworkers and lost jobs. The rest of the state...farmers and guns and God.
I have many not-so-fond memories of the Bush v. Gore and (especially) Kerry campaigns in Ohio and all the Republican gamesmanship that went on with Blackwell as SOS. Toledo ballots showing up late, Cleveland mischief by poll watchers calling about 2/3 of suspected Democrat ballots, etc. Loads of fun in the big (Democrat) cities.

He could have known or guessed her login info since was a personal account. Men who cheat often assume their partners do too. Bet he snooped.

Yes, it's demoralizing to be surrounded by affirmed racist, sexist, irrational people making up my community. I need HRC to win because I want validation when I tell the whole rural side of my community that they aren't right.

Columbus has not "gone Republican" and the rest of the state is not farmers and guns and God. Ugh.
I don't think he will win but I do wonder how close it will be. I'm not the biggest Hillary fan in the world, but I find it really annoying that Trump can go about being a dumpster fire of ridiculous and something comes out about the emails with Hillary and people are like "ugh ... more of this Hillary crap! she's the worst, this is the final straw!" I mean, really.
I think she'll win but I'm also worried about the aftermath. An alarming amount of people support trump and they aren't just going to go away.
We were driving through a different MA town yesterday (our town is very liberal) and I saw a lot of trump signs. more than I've seen this entire election cycle combined. I said to H, that at this point when you are putting a trump sign in your yard (or about 20 of them like I saw on more than one house !!!!) you are not trying to convince your neighbors like you normally do with a yard sign, you are now just making a statement about who you are as a person. You are saying "fuck it. I'm this kind of person. And I want you to know that"
I see why realtors might struggle right now to move properties in certain areas. If I drove up to an open house and saw any of that I would be out of there. We wouldn't even park the car.

I just do not understand what the fuck is wrong with people that they are proud and happy to have on display "hillary for prison" signs and are "proud" to be deplorable and will vote for Trump no matter what. This isn't an election for a local dog catcher. This is the Presidential election and the world is watching. God dammit i hate this year.

THIS.
I've talked about my gross neighbors and their illegal Trump sign operation, but I will say there are now more HRC supporters on my street than Trump. There are the two houses with "deplorable and proud" and "lock her up" signs, one Johnson Weld house, and two houses with HRC signs. We are the third HRC supporting house, though we don't have a sign. Trump supporters seem to just be loud and gross.
She is still doing well in NC and PA. If she wins those two stars, she is pretty much assured a victory, regardless of what happens in FL or OH.
I've written off Ohio, but North Carolina feels tenuous to me on a visceral level. I know the polls are good. I'm just worried about voter intimidation tactics, voter roll purges, long lines and other measures to disenfranchise people.
As a North Carolinian, I will say that down ballot races seem to have energized Dems and Independents that were luke warm towards Clinton - as a matter of principal of flipping the Governor's mansion and some other seats, people seem to be coming out for that purpose which I think will help boost her. My H is a good example of that. Whereas standard Rs aren't feeling the love for McCrory, Trump or most candidates.
