I've been on tv, on the radio, in a book, in Time magazine, on a website, in the newspaper, in a catalog, and in a journal. All I need to do is be an extra in a movie and my media domination will be complete.
I did a bellyflop on my honeymoon and ended up in the hospital for three months. I caused trauma to my chest which caused me to avebtwo major lung surgeries.
Whaaaaat? Gah that sounds awful: I had no idea that much damage was possible from a belly flop.
I can narrow it down to 2 things: 1. President Carter paroled my family, and prevented them from being executed by a vicious dictator. Despite this, I'm Republican. 2. My senior year of high school was very similar to,"It's Kind of a Funny Story".
Can you give any kind of details about your family's situation?
I call bullshit. You have a TON of interesting things. Starting with your cool house, your fun food blog and your shopping trips with grandma. I'm not as literal as you, you can pick more than one interesting thing.
I'm written up in a medical textbook. In 1985 I had an ovarian ectopic pregnancy, meaning the fertilized egg implanted in (or possibly had not been released from) my ovary. This is very rare. I have two perfectly functioning (although now retired) tubes, but I lost the one ovary. I went on to have two perfectly normal pregnancies.
I agree, way too much pressure. The things that make me interesting aren't all that exciting to most people on this board, but they shaped who I am.
I guess a somewhat interesting thing is that I played hockey all throughout my childhood - I even played with the guys in college a few times on the intermural teams.
The hockey thing is cool. But what made decide to give birth at home? I'm still in awe over that.

One branch of my family tree is currently ruling a small island nation about 90 miles away from Florida.
I've been drunk on national tv for a special interest piece for CNN Headline News; telling college kids that they can start drinking before the camera crew arrives is never ever a good idea. But in our defense they were featuring our college class on Beer and Spirits since it was one of the first courses offered in the US of its kind.

This is the internet so I can say anything and nobody will ever know I'm lying.
That said, speaking of "6 months", I once spent 6 months in an in-patient eating-disorder facility. It was like a prison, and to my shock, there was this strong Christian/Baptist theme. Even back then, I was an atheist. I hated the mandatory church-going and "Let Jesus heal you!" crap. I no longer have an eating disorder, although I don't think the facility "cured" me. Those 6 months were absolutely surreal.
I sang back up on a Kenny Loggins Christmas album in the 3rd grade.
I also have no depth perception so have never driven a car.
Where do you live that you don't have to drive? My HS BF's sisters had no depth perception but she still drove. Is that totally scary?
I live in Boston. I could drive if I wanted - I can pass the vision test on the eye exam, etc. - I just don't feel comfortable with it at all, especially with the maniac drivers around here!
I'm actually pretty dull and boring. I guess the most interesting thing is the fact that I was on two game shows--Wheel of Fortune and Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Not boring at all! Did you win anything??
I was on Wheel of Fortune with my best friend for "Best Friend's Week" and we won 26K. We went to the bonus round but we lost.
On Who Wants to be a Millionaire I won $25,000. I was going for the $50,000 question and had it narrowed down to 2, but I was wrong. I lost before I used my "phone a friend" which kinda sucked.

I took a 10-week long road trip across the US between college and grad school. As a result, I've been to all 50 states (I saw Alaska and Hawaii on different trips, obviously).
For my 8th grade trip to DC, the school hired a sucky bus. While touring the Washington Monument, there was an oil leak that ruined everyone's luggage and then on the way home, the stupid bus broke down. We were stranded at McDonald's for hours until another travel bus could pick us up.
I went with my aunt, uncle, and my aunt's sister to DC a couple of years earlier. We went to Robert E. Lee's house and my aunt's sister passed out. We were taken to the employee's dressing room and while she ate cookies, I got to try on the costumes before we were driven by an employee to the subway. Turns out the employee was from Cleveland working there for the summer.
Parts of that movie were filmed in Salem, MA! I totally went down while they were filming and gawked. I was hoping for a glimpse of Kate Hudson & Anne Hathaway but didn't get any.

This is hard and some of these are hard to follow.
I have had two brain surgeries and had to re-learn how to do a lot of things.
H and I have been married almost five years and except for our guestless destination wedding / honeymoon, have not been on a vacation that didn't revolve around a concert.

Wow. I wish some of you guys would expand on your posts!
I'm pretty boring these days. When I was 16 I spent a month in India at an orphanage my parents were involved with, and helped bring back 4 little kids to their adoptive families in Canada. That was awesome.
When I was 20 I went to Guatemala for 6 weeks by myself, on a whim, to study spanish and just hang out. After I graduated college, one day I packed up my Tercel and moved to Boston (from Canada), without knowing anyone or even having a sure job lined up. I grew up VERY shy, almost clinically shy, and I really gained a lot of confidence and strength by traveling alone.
Ok. I was on "Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids" and uttered the phrase "This is what scientists look like in hoochie red dresses." LOL
Um, this is amazing.
I have nothing on all these posts but want to contribute. Um I have no blood relatives within 30 years of me either way. That is not interesting though and come to think of it my uncle might be 29 years older than me. Now he's had an interesting life, traveled all over, mined in crazy locations, been held and gunpoint many times, even been on Millionaire. He needs to write a memoir.
I was on Oprah as a guest. Not quite as exciting as it sounds, as they cut my part for the actual show (which I was super grateful for), but it was awesome meeting her, being in the green room, getting hair and makeup done and having a front row seat for the whole taping. I also got some fun free gifts and a free stay at the Omni Hotel (plus a limo ride to the studio).
