I spent several weeks in a mental institution when I was 20.
My parents got married after one date.
My nephew had half of his brain removed.
That's all I got.
Those are pretty cool. Care to elaborate?
I knew I was depressed in college. I couldn't find my family doctor's number so I searched online. I found a mental health place that did free evaluations. I thought this would be a quick and free way to get a script for anti-depressants. Didn't realize I was signing away my rights when I signed a form. Next thing I know they are telling me that I'm a risk to my own safety and that I'll need to stay in the institution. I of course lost my shit when they told me this which resulted in me being deemed a risk to others as well. I was there for almost a week before I got up the nerve to call my parents (didn't live when them at the time) to tell them what happened and to ask them to bring me more clothes!
My nephew had a hemispherectomy a little over a year ago to control his seizures. He starts kindergarten in the fall and hasn't had a single seizure since the procedure.
My mother and father are from neighboring small towns. My mom says she had a crush on my dad before she even met him. Before she ever went out with him she told her friends that he was going to fall in love with her. She apparently hid by a dumpster of a bar he used to frequent (crazy much!) and walked out right as he and his friends were leaving one night. She asked him out and he agreed. They eloped after their first date. They're still married 28 years later.
