I don't know if Pioneer Woman started this blogging trend or not, but I want to throw my phone out a window whenever I'm just trying to find a recipe and I have to scroll through some stupid story about the blogger going to the beach or waxing poetic about how yummy the ingredients are. JUST TELL ME HOW TO MAKE THE GD SCONES.

Me neither. Her recipes fall flat for me. I have a few cookbooks that are like that. They just don’t work for me.

I adore Ina. Her potato fennel gratin is seriously the best recipe I've ever had/made. I don't think I've ever had a bad food experience from her recipes. From the above comments, I guess that makes my experience unusual? But seriously, she's a food goddess imho.

I've never made a Pioneer Woman recipe, so I can't comment on that but her down home shtick is tiresome given the reality of the (wealthy) farming family she married into.

I ignore the shtick. It’s annoying. Her recipes are good. (Most of them). Not original, but good. Except for her second cookbook. That one sucks.

Her recipe for turkey - both brining and roasting - is amazing.

I don’t think Inas recipes are bad, I just think they are..flat. When I make them. On her show they look good. I think they may require a certain natural cooking talent.

This is a total aside, but I think Mike Pence's wife is a dead ringer for Ina Garten and do a double take every time I see her.

I really hope CEP doesn’t ruin Ina Garten for me. I love her foodie point of view. Mostly because she cooks ONE thing for parties, brings in lots of non-fussy cheese platter type stuff and specialty-bought (from local shops/friends ... lol) and just enjoys her guests. I have scaled down many a dinner party because of her POV and really enjoyed myself more.

Plus, the whole ocean-side, “oh look what’s fresh and local” theme is my dream lifestyle. And I love her dorky husband who looks surprised and delighted at anything she feels like making for dinner. Oh, Jeffery.

And the pictures... THE PICTURES!!! Do people really need a picture of literally every step of the process?!? Here's a picture of a teaspoon of baking soda. Here's a picture of a teaspoon of baking powder. It looks exactly the same as the baking soda. Here's a picture of a teaspoon of salt. This one is totally different since the texture of salt is different than the texture of baking soda or powder.

I mean if you want a photo tutorial, cool. Just put the recipe first so I don't have to scroll a million times to get to it.

I don't mind that TOO much, as I know her blog attracts novice cooks (it's still a lot but at least it's helpful?) ... but all the "oh baby" and "this makes my skirt fly up" comments after a photo of, like, a pat of butter, grated on me. Ick. I don't need to know that you get off on butter, weirdo.

Her brownies are the best. And her store has the best chicken salad.

This is absolutely my go-to chocolate cake recipe. Heaven and so easy to make. Of course it also happens to be one Ina borrowed from someone else lol. 

I find her stuff pretty hit or miss. Some is outstanding and some pretty meh. She is super cute and likable though.

Lurker here. My coworkers and I were going out to lunch last year and walked by Ina as she was coming out of the restaurant. She was lovely and kind to my coworker...and Jeffrey was waiting in the car!

I love Ina and I love her cookbooks. I saw her when she came to Denver on her cookbook tour a couple years ago and she was delightful. Ree is annoying and I continually make fun of all my Oklahomans that have made the trek to Pawhuska

Ina always acts like she's ready to go have sex with Jeffrey when he walks in. I hate Pioneer Woman. She gets on my last nerve. If you want a kick ass Giada recipe, make her dirty risotto. I also don't care for Nigella. I wish Mori Moto would do a show. He was my favorite Iron Chef.

Oh and to ruin Ina. A few years ago didn't she say that she didn't have time to meet with a child who had cancer and that was his wish? I can't recall the details.
