Speaking as someone who is immunocompromised, PLEASE get the shot if you are able. I’ve already gotten mine, DS1 got his today and DS2 is getting his tomorrow. Our friend who is a general practitioner is already seeing flu cases in his office. It’s going to be bad this year.
Every year. My job mandates vaccination but they only offer the 3 strain . My husband gets his free at work. The pediatrician for the kids is another story, they always run out super early and their flu clinic dates fill up fast. I’m contemplating taking my kids to a walk in clinic

I got mine at Rite Aid, there was a line. I have never seen anyone even in the consulting room, let alone get shots. The pharmacist was kind of like, what’s happening here...
The kids’ flu shot clinic was supposed to be tomorrow at school, but due to short supply it’s postponed until at least next week.
I've had the flu without the shot and with the shot. Get the fucking shot if you are able. Getting the flu is brutal and the vaccine is safe and effective! I think CVS (the pharmacy not Minute Clinic) gives you a coupon afterwards. I'm going this weekend. The kids got theirs last month at the pediatrician. My MIL is stubborn and only got one because DD was a newborn last year.

Got mine last week. Don’t really have a choice since I work in health care but I would anyway. I never got my kid one last year but that was nothing but laziness. I am planning on getting her one this year.
I had swine flu when I was 5.5 weeks pregnant 9 years ago...right around this time so I hadn’t actually had my shot yet. I was at work and had a fever so I did a flu test which was positive so I got on meds right away and I never got very sick luckily. Then my OB still made me get a flu shot even though I had already had it.
Target and CVS were both out when we tried to stop by to get flu shots this weekend. Target said they might not have more for several weeks! I already got mine since I’m pregnant and had an OB appointment. I’ll take my kids to their pediatricians walk in flu shot hours next week.
Got mine yesterday; the achiness was not nearly as bad as past years. H got his last week; my son’s college has free shots next week. I’ll wait for my daughter until she’s done with her swim season.
Man, I wish I worked with you guys! Most people at my job don’t get it. Half because they just never get around to it (even though they gave them at work 2 days last week), the other half have the “I only got the flu the year I got the flu shot!” lame argument.
I’m curious why the 10 who voted no don’t get it, but guessing no one will say.
Flu shots will be available in my province on Oct 15, so we’ll get them as soon as we can.
I typically get mine at work, but I have to take my twins for theirs too. It means we’ll have wait in a long ass line at a public health clinic (twice because they are getting it for the first time, and they’ll need two doses) but oh well. Worth it!

I'm in Australia and got mine back in April before the flu season here. I'll get next year's when the pharmacy sends out the reminders. It's so easy, and they offer cookies, cupcakes & juice while you're waiting.
I got mine at the hospital (mandatory for working there) and the kids got theirs at school - I'm so thankful their school does it, makes it so easy.
I think I've convinced BF to get his first ever flu shot. He was of the belief that it could give you the flu - "Every time someone I know gets the shot, they get the flu!" No dude. It doesn't work that way. It's really hard to argue against those misconceptions though, even with all the statistics. "But I ALWAYS hear about it happening!"
I need a special snowflake option. I would like to get one. I don’t have a doctor in my new city yet and I’m not sure how things work around here. I have no idea if they offer flu shot clinics. I need to get this figured out.

The minute clinic gives them out too.
I think she was trying to say the coupon is “from” (as in redeemable at) CVS, so you can buy other stuff with it. It’s a CVS coupon for the whole store, not “from” Minute Clinic, as in only redeemable for more Minute Clinic stuff.
I am allergic to the flu shot so I voted no. I wish that wasn’t the case. The first time I got one I had an anaphylactic reaction. I don’t know what in it caused that reaction but it was scary. I am not allergic to eggs so who knows.
It is mind boggling, especially after the disaster of a flu season last year, why anyone would be anti-flu shot.
Yes our whole family gets the shot. We have been getting it for 11 years since I was pregnant with our oldest. H and I also work in healthcare adjacent roles so the shot is free and readily available to us. We also have to sign off that we have gotten it. And we have walk in clinics for the boys so it is super easy.
Actually this thread has inspired me to go get mine today. I am lifting weights this AM so I can deal with the potential sore arm for a day. It is perfect timing.
