2. Nausea roared in with a vengeance mid last week, ugh. I didn't really have it with AJ (aside from when I just needed to eat something) so this is a new ball game for me. It hasn't been too bad so far and seems to come and go but still...blech. My husband thinks this means baby is a girl so I keep telling him to stuff it (the only reason I'm really kind of hoping it's a boy is because I have ALLLL the boy baby clothes from AJ and the seasons will match up perfectly. The thought of sorting through and selling all that stuff makes me want to cry).
4. just a few basic maternity tops from Gap, and leggings from Blanqui with the code pooh8402 posted last week. Those leggings are SUPER comfy btw, I highly recommend them.

1. How far along are you this week? 19+1
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Getting anxious for my anatomy scan next week, but I think my nausea has finally stopped!
3. Questions for the group? What type of Diaper Pail are you planning on using? I had a Munchkin with DS1 that doesn't seem to be made anymore. It was okay but stunk by the end. We cloth diapered him like 75% of the time so it wasn't used all the time.
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? Way too much stuff! Solly Wrap, Infant Optics Monitor, Owlet, JuJuBe pump bag, Spectra pump, Lovevery Playmat, and a road/car rug for DS1. I think that all I need now for this baby is a new diaper pail, some meds (Tylenol, Gripe Water, etc) and a new Nose Freda.
greengables I just went with a $20 lidded step trash can. At 12m I do have to take poopy diapers straight outside because he stinks so bad, but there were a lot of mixed reviews on all of the diapers pails so I figured I'd just save myself the money.

katespade , I'm using a Graco PNP with an infant napper/bassinet and changing table, since that is where DS2 will sleep at first (until we move DS1 to the guest room and set up the nursery in his current room). If I wasn't planning on using the infant napper and changing table, I would go for something cheaper. Once you get past the infant accessories they pretty much seem to be all the same.

3. Questions for the group? Has anyone brought older kids to their ultrasounds? I have to bring my 5 year old to my appt on Jan 2, since he’s off from school. My H will be there too, and my son has been dying to see the baby, so I’m assuming it will be fine. (My practice already ok’d it)
We haven't yet but I think we are going to do an elective 3D/4D ultrasound and bring DS1 (4yrs). I don't trust his ability to sit still during a necessary ultrasound but I know that he would love to see the baby. Hopefully, this will be more fun for him to see!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm still feeling pretty good. I hope this lasts for a while. H finally felt the baby kick last night ❤ He was pretty excited about that. Still can't decide on a baby name! Our top contender is steadily moving up in popularity which annoys me.
3. Questions for the group? Does a name's popularity affect whether or not you'll use it? Does that apply to first and middle names? What's your cut off number?
4. Did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? Anything you're still looking for? SO MUCH. Baby related stuff: crib, mattress, stroller/infant car seat. So many other Christmas presents and random other stuff too.
3. For S(+)TMs: anyone else feel slightly overwhelmed after the holiday weekend with your older kid(s) at home, knowing there's another one on the way? Or is that just me!? With all the travel, DD (3) was in high need mode, and honestly pretty frustrating. I had moments of hyperventilating... how am I going to do this? and why!?
I feel this way just about every weekend! DS1 is actually fairly easy now, H and I each get to take turns sleeping in on weekends, but that will all be out the window soon!

pandorica, I really like Oliver and I think it goes well with DS1's name but it is really close to being a #1 name so I probably won't use it (although I don't think there are any Olivers in DS1's entire preschool!). Other than that I don't think I would let popularity dictate my choice if I loved a name.

The first name we chose is fairly popular, but popularity didn't factor into our name choice because we went with family names. I actually have a friend who's due six weeks before me and is using the same first name as we are.

It does factor in for me, although I know that's a bit silly. I probably wouldn't choose a Top 20 name. But, at the same time, there are SO many more names today that there are going to be a lot less people born with top 10 names than the 80s.

This is what I'm trying to tell myself. I had a top 5 name and hated it, but the number of kids with top 5 names now is probably lower than back then.
NT Ultrasound looked great today. It's so incredible how fast they grow! baby boy was throwing a dance party by himself in there. We bought a crib and dresser on a major Cyber Monday sale yesterday. YIKES!

I just checked the Social Security site, because I was curious and hadn't considered looking it up before. Apparently ours was ranked #27 last year (Lillian). Meanwhile, my first name has never been in the top 1000. LOL.
My anxiety is out of control and my dr suggested we talk more at my appointment on Tuesday. I honestly am going to struggle a lot until then because none of my normal coping strategies are working.
And I emailed nexgen and they said i should expect my results early next week since they got my sample on 11/21 And testing typically takes 7-10 Business days.
namasteak - I'm sorry that you're struggling. Do you have a therapist you're seeing regularly? If not, I highly recommend it. We increased the frequency of my sessions once we realized how much pregnancy has been steadily escalating my anxiety.

I have been on a waitlist at 3 local ones for 4 months. I should follow up because it’s been getting worse than pre pregnancy.

Your OB might also have some recommendations. Mine has an in-house therapist who is able to get patients in more quickly because she just offers short term care during pregnancy/postpartum.

So what all are they checking at during the NT scan? I know the main part is for Down Syndrome markers, but people mentioned there is more they look for than just that. Does anybody know what? And if it's not something they'd find at an anatomy scan?
FWIW I planned on asking my doctor today but rumor has it she is out on a delivery and my appointment will probably get canceled. My NT scan is scheduled for Friday and I'm not sure if I can get rescheduled before then.

You can also check postpartum international for their local website for your area. Ours listed providers who specialized in PPD / PPA, but obviously they can treat for perinatal anxiety or depression as well. I just contacted a bunch of them when I was struggling with my last pregnancy and one of them was kind enough to get me in even though her schedule was booked. Maybe try that and hope you get lucky like I did? It’s horrifying how long the wait is to get mental health services during a very necessary time to have those services available, so I hope you can find good help soon. Good luck!
Thank you for this suggestion. It’s really frustrating to feel this way and lexapro isn’t cutting it anymore.

I had mine this morning. The first thing they did was measure the fluid in the brain, the tech says its supposed to be under a certain level. They also measured baby head to rump, checked to make sure all the limbs were there, that the brain was dividing into 2 hemispheres, and that the heart had 4 chambers. Honestly it seemed more extensive than I remembered from last time, but it was fun to see so much of baby girl
I'm sorry you're struggling, namasteak. I have dealt with anxiety on and off my entire life, but had horrific PPA after DS and my OB was so so responsive and helpful. Like more than psychiatrists and therapists had ever been. I hope you're able to get some help and relief soon.

I am sorry you are struggling namasteak. I would call your OB and tell them how you are feeling and see if they can refer you to someone or see you sooner than Tuesday. You shouldn't have to feel like this for another week.

My last 2 pregnancies I felt better so in that sense this is a strange feeling to me. I really hope this isn't a sign that I will have even worse PPD/PPA than I did after DS1 and DS2 =(

Being proactive is smart and should hopefully help. Hugs.
Thank you for your encouragement <3 I just emailed my doctor. Her nurse is really good about responding quickly so I assume I'll hear something by end of business today.
brooklyn, I'm planning on bringing my 3 yo to my growth ultrasound at 31 weeks. It shouldn't take long, and fortunately, the office is set up for families (toys and cartoons in waiting room).
greengables, I use an Ubbi diaper pail. It's pretty good at keeping the stink away and it takes regular trash bags instead of having to buy expensive refills. You could even put in a large wet bag for cloth diapers.
pandorica, I worried more about local popularity rather than national. My first kid's name is top 10, but it wasnt locally popular when he was born.
pooh8402 I didn't think about local vs national popularity. The names we are looking at are like 40 spots lower in our state vs. the country, so that makes me feel better.
