Yeah I think I might call, although they could always lie. I’ll report back.
Did you ask? I mentioned one to my H today and his reaction was not what I thought it would be. He’s kind of encouraging I get one. Probably related to me leaving him with this kids last weekend to go to the gym. LOL. Anyway—I have a free trial class scheduled at the store later today.
I went to the store earlier this year "just to look" and walked out a buyer. It arrive in March and I'm already at 200+ rides. It really is awesome just having it in your house. I also use the outdoor walk, outdoor jog, strength videos and treadmill classes a decent number of times. I think I hit 30 runs last week. No regrets.

I’m tempted. I have been trying to find a good routine now that I have 2 kids and am back at work and the gym is not working great for me. It takes 15 minutes each way to get there so it becomes a 2 hour ordeal and I don’t have that much time. I just don’t want the peloton to become an expensive coat rack. I’ve never been super into spin but I don’t hate it...

I'd take advantage of the 30 day trial, you just can't beat that. I use the gym next door to my office but I've cut my hours and as a result cut my lunchtime gym session out sometimes and only get in 2-3 days a week. If I didn't have the Peloton at home I basically would not be working out elsewhere. With 2 young kids, 2 different pickup/dropoff locations and life errands the Peloton is literally the solution during these years. I think if you use it at least 2-3x a week consistently it's worth it.

I didn’t. I just dove in like a big dummy. I bought it online. They just opened a showroom here but I didn’t bother going. Only having it in my house for the 30 days will help me decide if it’s a good fit for me.

Yeah I considered the 30 day trial but H encouraged me to go in for a test first because I just joined a gym without trying it first and I hate it. He has a valid point. Haha

One thing I like about peloton is that are so many different types spin classes. Some are more choreographed (like soul cycle) and some are more technical. So even people who don’t normally like spin can normally find something they like. When you go to the store tell them you don’t normally like spin and they can help you pick an instructor. Plus there are all the other types of classes.
Not having to drive to the gym is huge for me! It makes scheduling my day easier but I also just have to motivate myself to get on the bike vs the whole get myself/the kids ready to the gym and drive there.

This is what’s going to be huge for me. Not only not wasting time driving to the gym but the fact that I can’t because I have no one to watch my kids! I have an elliptical but it just doesn’t feel as effective. I have to be on it for 100 years to burn significant calories. And I get super bored.

We have an elliptical too which is part of my hesitation because I never use it. But it’s soooo boring.

Which is why you’ll really benefit from the live and on demand classes. You can go and bookmark a bunch of classes you want to and check out their playlists in advance. And a huge draw for me is the ability to do intervals and get cued and pushed by the screen in front of me. I could never do intervals like this on my own on a regular piece of equipment. This was my ride from the other night.

Keep up posted!!! I got mine Thursday!! I love it!!! My name is bored2death if anyone wants to follow or do a ride with me!!!!
Oh I love Alex! He’s demanding but keeps it so fun.
My favorites and go tos are Cody, Robin and Tunde in that order
Have you tried Denis?? He’s my latest favorite. His hair is enviable. Love Cody, Emma and Kendall too. I’ve never really taken a “bad” class, there are just some instructors I gravitate toward. My first ever class was with Cody when we stayed at a hotel that had a Peloton. My H took his class first and was like “you have to try it!” The next week we had one in our basement lol.

I love denis music but he puts me to sleep, like ally love. Emma also makes me sleepy. Lol
I really wanted to love Kendall but god I don’t like her music lists.
I can go ten classes in a row doing just Cody rides until I need to mix it up a bit haha
I also gravitate towards Cody. I feel nostalgic about his music choices and his jokes about Brittany Spears and various boy bands crack me up.
Speaking of the devil. I’m literally on the bike right now and Cody is on a roll and I just snapped this pic Lolll
LOL! I ride with the app my gym pays for in their cycling studio and I had to go turn off the "hide explicit" setting to get most of Cody's rides to show up.
Random: what’s the plug for the headphones? Can other types of headphones be used? DH will use it too. I got him shoes.
You can plug in or connect Bluetooth headphones.
Awesome! I steal my husbands AirPods all the time so I don’t see why we can’t share some but I feel weird for NOT being grossed out but the sharing. Ha
WAIT another question- is there a class/instructor I should do for my first/first few rides? I have never done spin a day in my life- are there any that are for super beginners that go over the basics, form, etc?

The guy who set mine up said he tells everyone only intro, beginner and low impact rides for the first few weeks. He recommends this to give yourself a chance to get used to the bike and avoid injury. My first ride was an intro class with Cody just by chance!

I remember watching a few youtube videos to show me tips etc but what helped the most was when the delivery people set it up, they helped me get the best height and distance for my seat. That was pretty clutch. I'd take it easy and maybe avoid rides that say "groove, climb, HIIT, tabata" and maybe stick with low impact or pop rides to start. You can also look at classes online after you register to get an idea of what instructors you jive with so that when your bike is there, you'll be ready to go!
I'm really partial to Cody Rigsby's rides. He's so funny and lovable and I generally love his music.
