I think you should add a "I had COVID and am (most likely) still in the active antibody stage" - only because I'm guessing it will be when I'm outside that window when I am finally eligible for the vaccine, and I like to click things.
Second dose today! It’s a good day. And my mom, who has been been age-eligible for weeks but unable to find an appointment, finally gets her first dose tomorrow— I’m even more elated about that!
I am technically eligible due to weight as of yesterday, but I feel weird about getting it since I feel like my excessive quarantine snacking should not jump me in line (I do have other health issues like high BP, but that is not listed as a qualifying condition).
I think I’ll give it a few more weeks to let the elderly get their vaccines since many are still having trouble scheduling, and then I’ll see if any appointments are available.

I’m not eligible. But....there’s only one person in my life who I am worried about who hasn’t gotten it yet out of 6 total. So....that’s not bad. I’d guess she will get it by the end of March.
I’m glad you made this as I’ve been meaning to do a similar poll.
I’m general population so I think I’ll be lucky to get by May/June. We finally got an appt for my 74 year old MIL yesterday. That covers all the elderly in my family and the relief is like a huge weight off my shoulders.

I’m not eligible but my area is desperate for volunteers so I’m signed up to work a clinic a week from today. It is likely that I will be vaccinated at the end of the day.

Definitely volunteer! Even if you don’t get your vaccine (you should), it was so much fun and felt so good!
Everybody I gave a shot to was so happy and appreciative and relieved. I walked out feeling like it was a great experience!

That’s what convinced me! I saw a NYT article about how joyous of an experience it has been for people, and that combined with the fact that they haven’t had any cases traced to previous clinics in my area made me feel like I should take the plunge.
In my family, 3/3 healthcare workers have been vaccinated but only 2/5 age-eligible grandparents (so 75+, 4/5 with major comorbidities) have had access to the vaccine. 0/5 are fully vaccinated.
Vaccine rollout in the Portland area has been a nightmarish disaster for senior citizens. I haven't been able to get either of my parents scheduled yet. I don't anticipate being able to get mine for a long time.
I've tried to volunteer but am on a few waitlists because it is so popular here. Our area also was on the top 10 for expected vaccination uptake so I'm probably at the end of a longer line than some areas. However, I know healthcare workers and seniors who are now fully vaccinated and even being this far feels pretty good.

not like you need more convincing, but it really helped with my anxiety and made me feel good to be able to volunteer. I was able to actually DO something to help even though I'm not a medical professional.

It’s been so hard. I ranted a bit in the general COVID thread. It’s so frustrating.
One of my friend’s has had pretty good luck getting people signed up. (As she put it, she’s got experience booking a yurt at Ft Stevens in July, on a weekend.) Her advice: She’s had luck at Safeway.com, just checking random locations throughout the day. She’s also gotten some for the convention center through the OHA site. Since the Legacy site is throttled, once you get in, wait down the clock, refresh and wait again, things pop up. She says right now Safeway is less of a wait.
I feel like the waiting would be easier if I had a sense of when I might be eligible. Like, if it's May, or June, or whatever, ok, then I can think about it in those terms. But right now having no idea is almost the hardest part. NY seems to be redoing its phases and collapsing them, initially we had a system with phases 1-4, which became sub-phases 1a and 1b (currently eligible), 1c (TBA), and then... I guess everybody else at some unknown future time? I'm going through the motions, got my eligible dad his app't (for Monday, yay!), but I feel like I have nothing to pin hope on for myself and my household.

Volunteering to work a clinic was how I got my shot, and it was genuinely the most uplifting thing I have been a part of in such a long time. Everyone was so joyful and thankful to be there. I was supposed to work a second shift in order to get my second shot, but requests to volunteer were so high they wound up not needing me, which I was a little disappointed about (they still gave me the second shot anyway). I plan to look into volunteering again in spring or summer, once demand might be down a bit. All I was doing was helping people fill out their paperwork, so nothing big, but it was amazing to be even a small part of something so big. I seriously can’t recommend volunteering enough to anyone who is thinking of doing it.

Yeah, I spent at least 8 hours this week trying to get my mom scheduled. She become eligible on Monday. I've had no luck anywhere, I think every new batch of eligibility just makes the process that much harder. I did see that the Legacy and OHSU sites are being shut off and the state will now contact you when an appointment is available. I didn't see how they'd determine the order people are contacted. Should be interesting

I was about to say I’m here too, because the last tome I looked, there was no plan for anyone outside certain groups under the age of 65. Now I know see I’ll be eligible in July. That’s not the relief I thought I’d feel.

It does. If it helps, she had luck at Safeway this morning, so you might try that. I’m sorry, it’s been a terrible rollout.
I just had my first dose today!!!! One week after I become eligible, thanks to work putting our whole lab an essential status. Because we *could* need to go in. I feel somewhat guilty, b/c I do work from home now. But it’s true, I might need to go in (and have a handful of times). The olds at my vaccine site were glaring at me.
