It is Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin (safety). They performed CPR for nine or ten minutes, and he was eventually removed from the field in an ambulance with oxygen.
They’re going to try to continue playing the game, but I can’t imagine any of those players or spectators wanting to continue.
ETA: the game has now been “temporarily suspended” and both teams are going back in the locker rooms.
He got hit hard in the chest, then stood up and passed up. I wonder if the hit caused a bad arrhythmia, hopefully he wasn’t down for too long and will be ok. Terrifying.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
I’m so glad they are letting the teams leave the field, away from the cameras. My family is watching this just speechless. My heart just hurts for those men.

I was thinking the same thing with how he went down.
We’re watching. Initially I didn’t think it seemed like a crazy hit. How terrible. I can’t imagine his family or friends possibly watching all of this transpire on tv.
I’m not much for praying, but sending best wishes to Hamlin.

My 11yo is football obsessed and we are imploring him to watch. He wants more than life itself to play tackle and I’ve said absolutely not. He’s a dang good flag player, but this game is so very dangerous

FWIW, my sister is an emergency physician who is double-boarded in sports medicine, and she treats a lot of athletes and especially concussion patients. She does not allow her two kids (8 and 11) to play contact sports at all. She would 100% agree with your position.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Football is such a scary sport. I am forever haunted by the Ryan Shazier hit…the limp legs….Tua this year and even Nick Foles yesterday who looked like he was convulsing. It’s too much.
Same. It sounds like Roger Goodell is going to have conversations with both coaches and then word will come from NY about the game. I can’t see them continuing to play tonight, but it’s also unfair to make Buffalo forfeit since the number 1 seed in the AFC east is on the line with this game - that would just be punishing the Bills for having a player with a life or death medical emergency.
I also can’t believe they wanted the game to resume after 5 minutes when they got Hamlin off the field. 😳
Coaches shook hands, multiple players undressed, and Bills staff packing up some stuff. No official word yet but coaches know (they were on camera on cell phones). Game unlikely to go on.
ETA: Game suspended officially now. No decision yet on when or if to reschedule. I hope Disney puts on something soothing.
