I tried to have a conversation last night with my 11 year old about that fact that her period is coming literally any second (she is 5 ft 5, wears a size 10 shoe, and is probably around a B cup. I can't believe she hasn't gotten it yet).
Anyway. She told me that she'd rather jump out the window than talk to me about this, and to just leave her some pads in her bathroom and let her figure it out.
So that went well.
This sounds VERY familiar! Mine is 16 now and has stuck to this - doesn't need help with anything but keep the supplies in stock!!!
On the gymnastics topic my DD who turns 13 in a month just walked away after 10 years of doing gymnastics year round and 6 years on the team. She has been unwell this school year (cyclical health issues that can’t be explained) and couldn’t compete for most of this year of level 7. She had some issues with coaches that she wouldn’t acknowledge and then an injury and just threw in the towel. It was her entire social group and she’s really lacking without the physical outlet. She’s so lost. I truthfully never thought she would quit and it’s been a lot.

Aww man that’s so hard! Hopefully she can still keep those friendships and maybe have time to make some new ones. So hard to make the decision to stop this sport! They spend so much time on it. I hope they’re able to figure out the health issue and she feels better.
