I'm so sorry. I'm crossing everything that it is the simpler surgery with clear margins and a quick recovery. I'm sure you are in shock. If it helps, remember there is a whole community here supporting you and sending you internet stranger hugs. <3
Oh my gosh I’m so sorry. I hope the surgery is successful and that there are clear margins. Do you have a surgery date yet? I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts.
So sorry to hear this update. But also glad to hear the surgery could remove it all. I agree with others to not google. Come to this forum for extra support when you feel the urge to be online. Fingers crossed that all goes as well as possible.

If you’re willing to share, was your initial visit with a gastroenterologist and/or how did they come to that conclusion? I tried to stalk your prior posts and couldn’t figure it out.
Again, you don’t have to share if you don’t want to.
I don’t mind sharing. I copied and pasted from FB because it was a lot. I don’t remember everything I had posted here so some of it may be repetitive. Also, the follow up at Roswell that I mention below is when they did the ultrasound and biopsy and discovered it was a GIST.
”Thank you all for your get well texts/messages and concern. I don’t have all the answers yet, but wanted to fill you in on what has been going on.
I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy and my heart rate was spiking Tuesday and Wednesday. Went to my doctor’s clinic Thursday at 10am and blood tests showed I was severely anemic - hemoglobin down to 6.8.
Had a cat scan while at the clinic that showed a mass in or on my stomach and suspected GI bleeding, which likely caused the anemia.
Admitted into the hospital. 2 transfusions overnight into Friday which brought my hemoglobin up to 8.5 by early Friday morning.
Upper GI scope Friday afternoon showed small ulcer that was likely the cause of bleeding and fortunately is no longer actively bleeding. Mass is outside my stomach so they couldn’t do a biopsy at that time.
I was discharged today and my hemoglobin was holding steady in the 8’s. Feeling better but still not 100%. I have to follow up with my doctor and Roswell on Monday and go from there.
Just because we are going through this in my family right now, are you doing genetic testing for the mutation?
I’m sorry you and your family are dealing with this as well. I did not know genetic testing was a thing. I will definitely ask when they call me today.
Thank you all so much for all your support and well wishes.
The surgeon who will be doing my surgery is currently booked into November but his team is going to move things around to get me in sooner. They are supposed to call me today with dates and we go from there.
