How scary! Hopefully they fit you in quickly and can get it all at once. Anecdote time, fwiw, when I worked in gastroenterology the gastroenterologists were pretty calm about the GISTs and they seemed to be extremely treatable.

Sending you lots of healing thought and prayers for successful treatment. I'm so sorry you are going through this. Use us to vent, rage and find comfort. We are here for you.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I was thinking about you earlier today and how much emotional whiplash it must be to go from maybe cancer to not cancer to definitely cancer. Holding you in my prayers, and hoping that the surgery is as straightforward and uncomplicated as possible.
I’m really sorry. This is a lot to take in, in such a short period of time. I’m glad you’ve gotten such quick answers though, as the waiting game can be awful too.
Please be kind to yourself and let yourself feel what you feel. I’ll be wishing the best for you.
I'm sorry you have to join this shitty club. I did not know what kind of body I was going to wake up to either. By the grace of 1cm, I had an ileostomy rather than a colostomy. It was trippy. If you want to talk about digestive issues, or post op, pm me, I have too much experience. Hang in, you can do this. I promise.

I am sorry you are dealing with this. Best wishes that they get all the cancer in one go and you have a safe and speedy recovery. Take whatever time you need to heal both physically and mentally.

I mostly lurk here but did not want to read this and not post. I’m sorry you have gone through such a rollercoaster with this but I’m glad it was found and they are acting quickly. Sending you good thoughts, love prayers and everything positive. I’m so sorry you are going through this and hope things go as smooth and easy as possible

I’m so sorry for not only the cancer but the emotional roller coaster that accompanied your diagnosis, making it all the harder to process. You can get through this. You have the strength. One day at a time. Please lean on us for support.
Anecdote- My FIL had a GIST. They were able to shrink it a lot (was the size of a football) with the pills and his surgery went very well. He has recovered fully and has a few years under his belt of being cancer free.

Thank you for this. I am glad to hear your FIL is doing well. Did he have any organs removed/partially removed?
