Only 2 of us here, but I'd say 3-4 is pretty average, maybe more if I'm washing bedding other than sheets or throw blankets. It's usually 2-3 loads of clothes and 1 load of sheets/towels.

The limit does not exist. LOL.
H does the laundry and he's slightly obsessed with having every last piece of laundry done at all times. I feel like he does a load or 2 every couple days, if not daily. So probably 6-8? We change our sheets every week and DS changes his every 2-3 weeks. Plus I like to have the dogs bedding and the random blankets that the animals sleep on washed every week.
There are 3 of us, plus a cat and (highly shedding) dog.

Family of 5
5+loads of clothes 2 loads of Towels 3 loads of Sheets
D3 has her own room so I wash her clothes separately because it is easier when putting them away. D1&D2 share a room so their clothes are all together which is sometimes 2 loads.
I wash my work clothes separate from my regular clothes.
I was tracking for a short time and it averaged like 12-13 loads. I have no idea how people are doing 2-4.
6 people, four in adult sized clothes; during DH's busy season he makes lots of laundry. Also cold-weather climate in winter=larger clothes. I can never keep up.

Me: 1-2 loads H: 2 loads DD: 1 load DS: 2 loads Towels, sheets, dog bedding, etc: 1 to 4. One for towels every week, sheets every 2 weeks, dog bedding or other people bedding once a month probably.
So 6 to 10 loads for 4 people. A little less in the summer when there aren't big sweatshirts and whatnot. Seems like a lot but 🤷
Only 2 of us but I do between 6 - 8 loads a week. H is in construction so his clothes are so dirty and when the weather gets cold he has multiple layers...So 2 loads alone are just for him. Factor in towels and bedding....6 would be the minimum.

I'm feeling like an outlier here. Family of 4, and I do 10 loads of laundry a week. I do 3 for my/dh's clothes, 1 for ds's clothes, 1 for dd's clothes, 1 for each of our beds, 1 of towels, and 1 of dog blankets/towels/mats. In the summer I can sometimes condense dh/my clothes into 2 loads because the clothes are smaller, but once we switch from shorts/short sleeves to pants and long sleeves, the loads are bigger and I can't.
It’s usually 2 loads of clothes, 1 of sheets, 1 of towels (usually every other week) and maybe an extra load when I am washing blankets that don’t get washed as frequently.
This is so weird because it seems like a lot but 6-7 loads a week for three of us. We all wear gym clothes most days, then change into our regular clothes then night time clothes. So that's three change of clothes most days. Kitchen towel load, sheets, bath towel load...yeah I'd say 6-7. We all three do laundry.

I guess I'm the outlier. There are only two of us, but I probably only do one load a week, two if I'm doing sheets. H wears a uniform every day, and we reuse our bath towels for awhile before we wash them.
These numbers are stressing me out. Do you all not rewear anything? I'll wear my lounge clothes for like 5 days before they go in the hamper. I mean, how dirty can I get them just lounging around the house?
Roughly a load a day. My husband does most of it now. He runs almost every day, I at least think about working out most days, the big kid is in the midst of three separate sports right now (including swimming with a big ass towel), and the little one, while petite, is rather messy and will just dump the clothes that she only tried on and then threw on the floor in to be washed again rather than putting them away.

I think I'm a slob. I am always dripping stuff when eating or spilling/splashing on myself when cooking (even though I usually wear an apron). Plus the animal hair is always all over everything so I end up washing things after I wear it for more than a 1/2 day or so. Except jeans. Those I wear 3-4 times before washing since I'm usually only wearing them for a few hours while out to dinner or something.

Lol, agree. Faints at 10 loads of laundry a week. Maybe they’re not full loads? I even rewear sports bras when I’m working out at home, shrugs. Things last longer with less washes. The days of living overseas and doing my laundry by hand was def a light laundry time haha.

I think this really is dependent on whether you work out of the house. DH and I both WFH. I can wear the same clothes or at least sweatshirt more than once. And DH wears jeans everyday, so he wears them several times before washing. We had a lot more laundry when we were in an office daily and going to the gym regularly.
We also have a very large washer so we can wash a lot at once. And, I try to always wait for a full load b/c it's more energy and water efficient.

probably at least 5-6 loads a week!! (family of 4). I never get it all done either. Ugh. I am really particular about my work clothes and now, a lot of DD's clothes as in washing on delicate and hanging everything up. Its a huge PITA and I wish i could somehow make it easier!!!
I will say, I have definitely leaned into just doing a small or medium load so that it doesn't pile up so much. I used to have the mentality thinking every load had to be a large one and I had to let go of that!
We have 6 family members. I also really suck at washing sheets and towels - I should do it more often. Normally all the kids get a bath or shower before bed, so I tell myself their sheets stay relatively clean longer than a few days.
I would say I probably average like 6 loads a week. Sometimes much more - like over a summer long weekend when we’re in our pool or at the beach a lot, the kids tend to wear more clothes because they start in one outfit, then swim, then put on a new outfit. And then I have to wash all the pool/beach towels in addition to house ones.

2 people and a dog. I have to think it out: 1 load of towels, 1 load of sheets, 1 load of bathroom rugs or dog rugs, 2 to 3 loads of clothing. Please note that my laundry machine is definitely smaller than any machine I've ever used in the States (front loader) so that may be why it's 5-6 loads.
