Beyond That, The Sea-- I just finished this one. I ended up enjoying it but I almost quit it at one point (there was some very weird focus on an adult bathing preteens and I could not understand the carrying on of it).
The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane-- I almost quit this book near the beginning because I couldn't handle a fairly big trigger I wasn't expecting. I ended up pushing through a bit and carrying on. I do like it so far. I'm about 30% into it.
Up next, I have the first book of The Marveller's series.
I’m on a nonfiction kick. The last three I read were all excellent:
Safe - A Memoir of Fatherhood, Foster Care, and the Risks We Take for Family - Mark Daley American Sirens - The Incredible Story of the Black Men Who Became America’s First Paramedics - Kevin Hazzard The Bodies Keep Coming - Dispatches from a Black Trauma Surgeon on Racism, Violence, and How We Heal - Brian H. Williams
And I just started Beautiful People - My Thirteen Truths About Disability - Melissa Blake
I just finished listening to The Last Mrs. Parrish and The First Shot. I read the last Mrs. Parrish before but wanted to reread (listen)because the sequel comes out this summer.
I just finished Grey after dark. It’s definitely disturbing and hard to read at times but an edge of your seat thriller. About an Olympic biathlete who gets kidnapped. Reading the author’s notes I learned it was inspired by a true story of a real Olympic Biathlete that was kidnapped! Crazy!!
I just started Everyone is Watching. I really loved The overnight Guest by this author and liked another book by her - This is how I lied. So I’ve got high hopes.
I finished The Wishing Game. I ended up really enjoying it!
I am currently reading The Covenant of Water. Its LONG. The story just switched from one set of characters to another and I was really enjoying the prior story and am not so much enjoying these new peeps so I’m hoping we go back to the first characters or weave them back in soon.
I’m listening to Yellowface by R. F. Kuang. I find the plot engaging and want to know how it ends, but the main character just keeps getting worse and worse. I realize this is probably the point.
After this, I’ll listen to The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. I know nothing about this; it’s the pick for a book club I’m joining this month.
I’m reading The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It’s so good! I have the Heaven and Earth Grocery Store that should be delivered hopefully next week and when I’m done with both of those I’ll have The Women ready to read.
I finished A Year of Biblical Womanhood by Rachel Held Evans. Interesting read.
Today, I finished listening to Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond. 5 stars, even if I didn't always like/agree with what he had to say.
I will always be sad that Rachel Held Evans will never write another book. She is one of my favorite authors.
Agreed. She was ahead of her time in the faith deconstruction world, and I often wonder what she would think about what has happened in the last 5 years and what kinds of things she would be writing now. I think this was the last book of hers that I hadn’t read yet. I’m sad there are no more. (But Sarah Bessey has some great stuff that is on my list!)

I’m glad you’re liking The 7 Husbands! That’s this month’s book club book and I was going to skip it but I think I’ll give it a chance now.
I’m on a string of books I didn’t mean to read. I checked out the Jerry Seinfeld and Bob Odenkirk memoirs because I thought my H would enjoy them but I ended up reading them instead. The Seinfeld book was literally just jokes, but some were good for a laugh and it was a quick read.
Reading Bob Odenkirk’s Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama now and learning a lot about his early days.
Then my FIL gave me back the copy of Killers of the Flower Moon that we gave him for his birthday, so I’ll read that next and then see the movie.
Lastly I checked out Atomic Habits for a work exercise. I really don’t enjoy self help books so not looking forward to it but will grin and bear it.

I just started Project Hail Mary (same author that wrote The Martian). It’s sci fi which is not usually a genre I pick, but have heard great things about it from several people.
I also have Demon Cooperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and Leave No Trace by Mindy Mejia on my list to read this month.
I just finished "Lucky Leap Day", which I only read because one of the popsugar prompts was a book with the word leap in the title. It was eh. I know these types of books all follow the same formula and are unrealistic, but this one felt extra boring to me.
I'm currently read "The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot". For our eclipse vacation I have from the library "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" and "Mad Honey".
I finished the Devil's Arithmetic. Sometimes I try to read what my kids are reading in school because it gives us something to talk about. I usually like their books, but I thought this one was awful. I'm currently slogging through the Bee Sting. I know a lot of people here loved it, but I don't. It is soooo long, and it's not interesting enough to keep me into it. I've already renewed it once and still have about 150 pages to go. I feel like I can't relate to any of the characters in it.

Reading Thursday Murder Club. It’s so so but my older sister really liked it. Next up is Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. Loved all of his books so far
I just finished Demon Copperhead and it took me literally all of March to get through it. I did end up liking it, but it (obviously) took me a bit to get into it.
I tried The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store (on audio book) and couldn't get into that either. My download expired and I only listened to a few chapters. Maybe it would be better to read. My thoughts kept drifting and I'd have to rewind because I missed parts.
Right now I'm reading First Lie Wins and I'm already close to 1/2 way through after starting it yesterday. Easy read and it's a page turner because I just want to know WTF is going on.
