I have a treat every day, but not something over 250 calories. Tonight I had cocoa made with skim milk. Yesterday I had a small ice cream sandwich.
As far as a dessert over 250 calories, I have those when we have company and I make dessert, maybe every three months if we go out and I order something, or when we go to dinner at a friend's house and they offer dessert.
All the time too. I'm fat also & don't recommend either. Today I had a cupcake mid afternoon (leftover from DD1s birthday party)...I may go looking for something else sweet tonight. How often depends on what's in the house. I try not to keep sweets in the house.
Dessert of that size maybe 2-3 times per week. Multiple smaller desserts during a day that add up to 250 calories total? Regularly; maybe daily. I like chocolate.
3-4 times a week, but I'm a fat ass. I split a cupcake with DH today after dinner (a big ass one from Whole Foods). Yesterday I had Moosetracks after dinner.

Pretty much every day. Often more than once a day.
Today I decided against leftover birthday cake after dinner. I was so proud of myself until I remembered that I had had a bag of those Famous Amos chocolate cookies this afternoon. Oh well :-)
I have no idea what the calorie count is of the average French pastry. I have a pastry a couple times/week. The last "big" dessert I recall having was this past weekend. It was a crepe with chocolate sauce, caramel au beurre sale and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. DH and DD helped me with it, but I ate most of it myself.
There's a reason I started exercising a lot more in France.
