Everything is fine. Just some residual clotting, a very small amount. This was the radiologist report. I will be hearing from my Dr. later today. Thanks for all of the good thoughts.
7:45-8:30 before school prep/meetings Kids in classroom 11:40-12:10 lunch Kids in classroom 2-2:55 prep Kids in classroom 3:20 school ends 3:40 I leave and go straight to daycare and then 15 minutes home.
So knowing that, here's what I did. There wasn't much time between lunch and prep so I didn't see the need to pump again on my prep. I woke up extra early so I could pump before showering, getting ready or DD waking up. That was my largest pump of the day. Then I pumped on my lunch break. As the kids were getting ready for recess I would close my curtains, get out my pump, and get the bottles and stuff all set up (behind my desk) so that when I came back from dropping them off at recess all I had to do was put on my hands-free pump bra and start pumping. I was able to get 2 bottles worth during that time. Then I nursed right when getting home at 4:15.
So I only pumped 2x a day and only once at work and it was fine. I will say I had a decent supply and was able to get a full 4 bottles a day that way and sometimes a 5th.
No planning time? Yikes! I agree with the poster that said ask someone to take the kids for you. You are going to need adequate time to get in your pumping.
I noticed some weird bruising and had some pain around the area that I had a dvt. I emailed my dr and she ordered an ultrasound to rule out another or same dvt. I had some pain the other day in the area and then I noticed a quarter sized purple bruise. I don't remember hitting anything but had a cramping feeling which made me worried. I'm sure everything is fine. It's just that every little twinge I get scared. I go in tomorrow just to be safe.
We make them up. We went on strike for 5 days. We used a professional development day, cut 3 days off midwinter break and added a day at the end of the year.
I am having major back surgery in 8 days and I am freaking the fuck out (removing herniated discs and fusing 4 vertabrae with titanium screws and rods)
What if I don't wake up? What if they nick my spinal cord and I am paralyzed? What if I go through this surgery and it doesn't help?
I want to stay positive but this is some scary shit.
My aunt and friend just had this surgery each within the past 6 months. They were both walking within 3 days and my friend just started running again! I know, anecdotes, but you'll be ok! Hang in there, I would be scared too.
When I was on medical leave last summer (teacher too) I was not allowed to work. I actually had to beg to do report cards. I was locked out of the system. I missed the last three weeks of school and told my principal it would be very easy for me to do them. Different situation I know, but it's my understanding that if you are on medical leave you should not be working from home. I would check with HR and check your contract of you have one.!
This is me on a hill nearing the finish line at a half. My friend was pacing me. I actually PRd by about two minutes. This course is nothing but hills! My fat ass wanted to die!
So, S/o your post about fitting it in with a baby: my post ironman night consisted of sneaking around like a 90 year old ninja to avoid waking my 3 year old up in the hotel room. I drank a shake and took a shower and then crawled silently in to bed.
I do have a pic of my pre-shower naked sunburned and salt crusted back and the gnarliest hair. That one is in the vault.
ETA: my hair hair, not back hair, in case that was unclear
My husband had to undress me. Everything hurt. even my clothes.
I just wanted to bring this up since it is super strict. It's not intended to be the way you eat forever. It's ultimately an elimination diet tool to identify if/what foods you have sensitivities towards. The end of the 30 days is met with adding 1 of each of the eliminated food groups back and then eliminating it again to see how your body reacts.
Anyone interested in whole30 and the theories behind it is would recommend reading It Starts with Food by Dallas & Melissa Hartwig.
Still to strict. I don't think this is an ink action diet either. I've done an elimination diet under a naturopaths me it wasn't whole30.
Lady. I have trouble balancing my job, husband and working out now lol. Throw in a demanding baby and I got nothing.
I agree with you...when will there be time to hike!!!??
I posted about hiking on Got Pregnant, and I was happy to hear many start hiking pretty early on with their babies! It's one of my favorite weekend activities and forms of exercise. I read a book called Babes in the Woods, which is not fantastic but probably worth a read, that talks about tips for doing outdoor activities with your kids starting as infants. I'm new to this so I don't know how it will play out in reality, but we are planning to start short local hikes as soon as I'm cleared, and we have our first mountain weekend planned right at 3 months before I go back to work (going to try cabin at 3 months, tent camping at 5 months). They make all types of carriers for different ages/sizes, and almost everyone says that the babies just fall asleep and go with the flow. I've seen lots of parents with babies in carriers on our local trails!
Another "no lie, it's hard" vote, and I was never the one producing milk, lol. Once they sleep through the night and can sit in a jogging stroller, that's a big help. I got a running stroller, I joined a gym with child care, now I have a bike trainer, so it does eventually work. Three weekday workouts plus a long run or workout on Saturday is a success; four days and I'm on top of the world.
But shit happens, or I'm worn out from dealing with a small child, or we make other plans, and I've learned not to be too sad if it's hard to get to the gym for a week or two. Also the holidays so far have been a zoo, so I just give up on doing much of anything after November 15th.
The magazine USAT publishes gave advice like "incorporate your children into your workout", hahahahahahahhahaha.
I take care of 23 children all day and I'm exhausted! How do I take care of my own too? Lol!
