I had to respond to questions on a clinical vignette for the job I've been interviewing for. My friend who referred me told me that I did a great job with my responses and that he's still rooting for me to get the job. Hooray!
Now you will feel no rain For each of you will be shelter to the other. Now each of you will feel no cold For each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no loneliness for you For each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two persons But there is one life before you. Go now to your dwelling place to enter into the days of your togetherness And may your days be good and long upon the earth.
It makes sense that you're shutting off your own feelings right now. Try to make time for yourself somewhere in all this so that you can let yourself feel too and take care of yourself. I'll keep good thoughts for all of you.
How many bras are in your regular rotation? 8, if I counted correctly.
What's your current favorite restaurant? I don't know if I have one. I guess maybe Il Fornaio.
Do you have photos of yourself/family on your walls or art? Both. Mostly photos, but few of them are of us and none of extended family hanging on the walls. Most of the photos are landscapes.
What's your favorite reality show? Real Housewives of wherever. I think NJ is my favorite of the RHo... franchise.
What are you doing this weekend? Tonight is a party downtown because one of my old coworkers is in town from NYC and this is his way of seeing everyone. Tomorrow I'll be watching the Pride parade, maybe hanging our with neighbors and drinking. Sunday DH and I are going to see Brave (finally!) at a fancy movie theater where they deliver food to your seats!
I'm sick-ish and she recommended something her housekeeper makes when they're sick: tequila tea.
I made it according to her directions. It is gross. I even used anejo! It's made with green tea, lemon slices, and lime slices, all steeped together for as long as you can stand. Then heat it up, add a shot of tequila and a spoonful of honey. I jumped on it because I love tequila.
Verdict: I don't think this is going to help me feel any better. This is not a good flavor combination.
No flames from me. I've worn legwarmers under my jeans before. I had them for an 80s costume and remembered how comfy they are. But I won't wear them as pictured.
If I get this job, I'll actually have holidays off again. Significant time off...like a week for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for winter break, 3 weeks in the summer, all paid. That would be AMAZING. Luckily, the person who referred me for the job is the person with whom I'd be working most closely. Plus, he was leading my second interview. Fingers crossed!
10outof9, both of your stories sound somewhat horrifying. I can't even imagine.
Now I have to go to TJs. Both types of meatballs sound delicious.
I was disappointed to find out they no longer carry profiteroles. I loved those things so much I refused to let myself buy them with any regularity because I could inhale a box within a week or less.
I called in sick to work today because I wasn't feeling great, but also because I had an interview at 4pm, smack in the middle of my work hours. I kind of feel guilty, but also don't. I really hope I get this position!
I don't see any listed boxes that look like mine. Huh.
I got: Color Club nail polish in Blue-ming Jouer lip enhancer (lip balm) Juliette Has a Gun perfume, scent Lady Vengeance Klorane shampoo with chamomile stila in the garden eyeshadow palette sampler (all the shadows on cards, so cute!) Tea forte minteas and, of course, the earbuds.
I'm pretty happy with my box overall and am especially excited about the Jouer lip balm, which I already love, and the stila eyeshadows.
I love them and wear them frequently, but am never on boats. They're great when it rains, too...my feet stayed totally dry walking in the pouring rain despite the shoes getting soaked.
Granted, they're not everyone's style, but since I skew more to the preppy side anyway, I love them.
I'm sorry! I hope you start feeling better quickly. My 36 year-old coworker recently finished finished her meds for shingles. I too had no idea people could get shingles that young.
One of my coworkers and I got along until we worked together a little longer and now she's a bitch to me for no apparent reason. I think it's because I don't freak the fuck out over everything like she does, acting like everything's an emergency. I found out she invited a bunch of people out for her birthday, from one of them. Oh well, I won't have to put up with her abrasive personality outside of work.
Last night I met up with some coworkers for beers and a blind man with a mullet approached me. Fun times! I can tell it's going to become a running joke.
Green (17), then gold (14), then blue (13). I didn't strongly identify with any of the categories and didn't really like that way of determining things. But I'm definitely *not* orange.
Since I'm in the same time zone and rarely on during the day:
I do sometimes/somewhat frequently swear at work.
Sometimes in front of lateral colleagues Sometimes in front of my supervisor (but rarely, unless I'm quoting something a client said) I don't have underlings anymore. Sad horns Only in front of upper management if I'm quoting something a client/resident said, but even then I try to edit Addition: I swear in front of clients. Often. It's either after they swear or to let them know that it's okay for them to swear in session.
I say all kinds of swears, including bitch, fuck, hell, shit, crap, fucking ridiculous, fucking sucks, bullshit, hellish, fuckery... They are never directed at others, like not cursing anyone out. I would never say cunt at work, but I might say twat. Actually, probably not.
(Without Googling first) Do you know what salt potatoes are? No. Google time!
How often do you shave your legs? Once a week, my skin is so sensitive that it's hard to do frequently without getting tons of little red bumps all over my legs from sensitivity. Nothing I've tried calms them. I don't get as much hair growth any more thanks to intermittent waxing.
Best/favorite mascara? My favorite right now is Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion (purple tube)
Use the handicap stall or no? Only if the other stalls are taken or really dirty/gross/cramped.
Favorite cheese? I can't choose just one! Boursin, brie, parmesan, blue (like Pt. Reyes)...
Least favorite cheese? Pepper jack can be too spicy. Monterey jack is sometimes too bland.
Favorite dish with cheese? All of them! Probably Mac & cheese, or a cheese plate.
Most unusual meal with cheese? I can't think of an unusual cheese meal I've had. I think I've had the watermelon-feta combination and it was delicious.
I'm sad I missed this. I don't think my looks and personality match, at least not entirely. I look like I could be an under-botoxed/plastic surgery-ed extra on RHoOC, but in reality I'm not high-maintenance and superficial.
I agree with what everyone else has said, for the most part. I do think MGM matched up pretty well. She's the only TIPer I've met in person.
You've gotten good advice. I just wanted to chime in and say that I think golden blonde could look really nice on you, even without a tan.
I don't know if that photo is true to your skin tone, but I'm not sure why your colorist thinks golden tones are bad, unless she thinks they'll accentuate any pink in your skin. I'm a little biased because I have golden blonde hair.
