I am sooooo tired. Like sleepy tired. I have hardly slept all week. After dinner we are going to watch Tinkerbell with DD and eat popcorn, and I think she and I will do a foot bath and paint our toes.
I keep a plastic hamper on our floor. Totally unattractive but it'w what works. As soon as it's full I take it downstairs to wash...I keep thinking about putting hampers into our closets but I have afeeling we'd just throw our dirty clothes all over the floor like we used to before I started leaving a basket out.
DD has a basket in her closet and it works well.
Do you have room in your bathroom for a bigger hamper? Or a closet somewhere close by?
I think we've agreed the challenge for this weekend is to tackle two "hot spots" in your home....areas where clutter and disorganization are out of control. It can be as small as a drawer, your purse, your tupperware cupboard, etc.
Snap pics before and after and we can all check in and share on Monday!
Um, they don't have to answer questions. They decided to do it for fun today as a nice thing for their fans....They do have jobs and work they need to get done as well.
I think it was nice of them to do what they did. And if they picked your question and just tossed you a 3 word answer, you'd be pissed. I'd rather they discuss the answer and answer the question thoroughly than rush through it and give flippant/short answers just to get lots of questions done. There is no way they could answer everyone's question, but the ones they do answer they take the time to answer well.
I remember how awesome I felt immediately after DD was born...it was like instant relief and not just from labor pains. So freaking awesome when you are instantly free of all the aches, pains, heartburn, swelling, etc.....aside from the fact that you trade that for a crazily sore vajayjay and pooping feeling like you are passing broken glass ;D
really? I am glad I am not the only one. I am a bigger girl and I was getting rashes and raw skin....the crotch of my pants wasn't coming up high enough and my thighs were rubbing together at the very top. It was awful. I have 2 pairs of maternity pants that fit me properly, but one is almost worn out and is about to rip in one spot. I am turning more and more to yoga pants.
And maternity clothes are not as comfy as people make them out to be. My maternity jeans are too tight right at the very top of my legs, so they won't go up quite high enough. So then I spend all day hiking them up. The next size up is saggy and gives me granny bum. Most of the shirts are now all bagged out and the ones that aren't are ripping after 2 washes because maternity clothes are crap quality.
That sucks wawa. I have that problem with my underwear- they are all too small. I get raw spots where the seams were too tight too, but it's not all over my body
I woke up at 4 am - there was some big loader truck clearing snow and removing snow piles. They had their backup beeper on and it sounded like it was inside my room. They also had flashing yellow lights that turned my bedroom into a disco. My bedroom is at the back of the house with no windows looking onto the street, but it came in through the kitchen and lit up the entire house. it was crazy!
It woke up DH and I and it was there for about 30 minutes. why...in a podunk town, in the night when there are NO cars on the road, do they need to have flashing lights and a backup beeper on? I know they have a job to do but seriously they woke up the entire neighborhood.
Yeah that's another example of trim I would leave alone...it is beautiful!
I just don't get when people have skimpy oak trim from 1970 that has been stained orange and coated in thick, gloppy laquer and they are like "But it's real wood! I can't paint it!"
Probably like 3 years ago. She re-did her kitchen and the reading room twice, and both times they were beautiful. Did their dining room, 2 bathrooms, and lots of small projects. was the queen of "Mantle" decor and did seasonal posts on that...there was always some sort of project, whether it was painting a bench or stencilling on the backs of chairs or setting a beautiful table.
I am sleeping later and later in the mornings and after supper I dont move from the couch. I feel tired all the time, and little things irritate me to the point I want to scream.
And they moved to a new house and I thought there would be tons of new projects and decor posts and there has been almost none. And the ones there are, seem hastily written and short and boring...
I am fine with blogs sharing life stuff, but her blog is now completely all about adoption and self helpey/ inspirational stuff. I am kinda bummed there isn't more balance. It went from being my favorite read to I am ready to delete it from my reader.
You have an amazing focal point in that fireplace and it seems to be ignored. I would be arranging the furntiure around that...not lining it up on the walls. Can the sectional turn so it's facing the fireplace? It seems too big for the room (that sucks about moving - furniture sometimes is the wrong scale for a new room) or can you remove sections of it?
I would either lose the footstool or put it in front of the ikea chair, it looks a bit funny sitting in its own on the other side of the fireplace.
I like all the rugs you are looking at. I would also consider doing different drapes- those ones are too short.....drapes should hang to the floor, they are like the pants of a room. Some girls on here have painted out the brass on their fireplaces - that would look great on yours! Hang or lean something large above the fireplace.
But her wood was nice. And if it was in bad shape, doesn't that just add to the character of the home?
If it was 70's orange stain, ok .....mayyyybe. But that was some amazing woodwork. And the stain color and wood grain were really nice and not dated looking at all.
Oh, I agree on that one....he is way better looking than I am. we are very mismatched and it makes me self conscious. hot girls always hit on him in front of me, I think because they look at me and +o( and think he deserves someone better. thank goodness he loves me anyway.
I never fold the laundry I am such a terrible sleeper lately that i am keeping him awake all night. I use him as my person to vent to about work since I work alone. I do it way too much. I am scared of telling people no and he gets annoyed that i have no backbone
I am annoyed at one DC mom who keeps asking me "Did you take them outside today?"
Um.....I am hugely pregnant. I have 8 kids to get into full snow gear, including 2 babies. We don't go out twice a day, every day because I will die if we do. It takes me 30 minutes. I feel like barfing whenever I bend over...getting them ready means I sit down and they come to me one at a time and try not to barf as I put on boots and tuck in snowpants. usually at least one kid is screaming by the time the last one is ready. Your child takes off her mittens and hat at least 5 times and likes to run around my house with her boots on and have my pregnant ass chase her. As soon as we get outside, your child screams and cries and wants to be held, again by my pregnant self. your child spends the entire time outside falling down and screaming, or ripping off her mittens and laughing. meanwhile I am getting the shakes because I was drenched in sweat when we came outside and my jacket doesn't zip anymore, so I am freezing to death.
Yesterday we got 18 inches of snow. No, I did not take 8 kids outside in 3 feet of snowdrifts....it was OVER YOUR CHILD"S HEAD and I am not shovelling my lawn.
Today it was freaking cold. WAYYYY too cold to be outside - I have a rule that below a certain temp we do not go outside. It was way colder than than, so we stayed inside.
I got the eye roll over not going outside. I feel like pointing at my belly and then pointing at the two babies and saying "Seriously?"
No I did not take them outside today. I DID however, make homemade muffins, change 12 diapers, wipe a hundred snotty noses, clean up tons of toys, lead circle time, do a painting project, clean up paint for 20 minutes, put 8 kids down for a nap all at the same time by myself, answer 5 phone calls, make homemade playdo, serve 2 healthy snacks, and deal with your child's screaming and whining all . day. long. But yeah, I suck because I didn't take them outside in -25 the day after a massive snowstorm.
My goals this weekend are cleaning out the car and my purse. Maybe that could be the challenge? Or we could challenge everyone to tackle 2 trouble spots
From the photos you've posted it looks to me like she has an olive skin tone....I love it! How is it going so far? Hope your recovery is going well too.
Why would you need to label her clothes?? If her clothes get dirty, don't they put them right into a bag and in her cubby to take home? And then just grab her extra outfit from her cubby to put on? Unless they wash clothes at daycare I don't see why they couldn't keep track. I have worked in 2 big centers and I run my own daycare and we never have kids label their clothes.
ooh..I like the idea of turning it into a cabinet with a hinged countertop....you could make a nice space there for buffet style meals or a wet bar at parties and no one would know it was there...
I would get rid of it before I would have a huge freezer in my kitchen, honestly. Can you at least downgrade to a smaller one? Two people should be able to get away with using the fridge freezer and a small freezer, unless you do a ton of freezer cooking or buy a whole cow every year.
Can you keep it on your porch? hmmm....Do you have a spare bedroom? In our first house, we kept our freezer in the office/spare room. We just had a desk, bookshelf, and the freezer in there. weird but it worked for us.
At least its' not Lisa Leanord. OMG every blogger in the universe was doing regular giveaways of her necklaces. Her stuff is great, but it was so silly how many blogs she was pimping herself out on...turned me off to her.
