Forum upgrade info - updated 1/12

Everyone should log into the test board now & go through the new account upgrade process so that we can work through any problems that you might have before the switch. I know a couple of people have already ran into some issues.

They have simplified the upgrade process & this step is no longer necessary. If you want to check out our test board, visit pandcetest.freemessageboards.com, but know that any changes made there (including new accounts) will not be saved.

When our board is upgraded next Wednesday:

- If you haven't already created your global (email) account just log in with your username and password as usual. You will then verify your email address (make sure it's a valid address!) and enter a new password for your global account (can be the same as your current password). From then on you will log in here with your email & password.

- If you have already created your global/email account, log in with your email address and password, then click 'link another forum account' and enter your username and password from here.

- If you created a new account on the test board it will not exist on this one (any changes made there will be lost). Log in with your global account and click 'Create a new account on this forum' and choose a username if you would like a new account after the upgrade.

I upgraded, then when it took me back to the test forum it said my login session key was invalid. ??

It won't let me log in. After I log in it it tells me there was an error and my session key is invalid.

Is there a way to change the look of the new board like you can with this one?

Is there an exact date of when the switch will happen, if it doesn't happen early?

Also, will liking PB on FB link or show our full name that we use on FB?

You can change the look of the forum... it's in your profile, in the settings area, I believe. The options aren't the same as they are now though (I'll miss you, gray on blue).

For the invalid login thing, try going to the new look beta forum first and re-registering via your e-mail, not your username.

OK I did all that, but is there somethign I am missing. When I go to the message board it is just a list of hyperlinks on a white screen and the formating is all odd. It doesn't look very awesome. When I click on an actual post, it looks like a jumbled mess and the signature pictures and avatar pictures are HUGE. Is this just me?

Part of it is that it is a test forum. What it looks like over there won't be what it looks like here. Some of it is the inevitable format change that will have to be worked through.

Ok, cool. Just right now it looks like message board looked like in the early 90s. So I was hoping that is not the final product.

You don't have to use the same email you signed up here with, but you do have to use a valid email because they send you an activation link.

Jan 28th, but we have already passed the 120pt threshold so we will get to upgrade Jan 16th.

Liking on FB will be just like liking other pages there - so your FB friends will see that you liked it. It won't be linked to your account here in any way.

Same here. I've validated from my email. I tried clicking the 'not you' and re-entering. No luck.
