You have changed your display name, but your username is still what it originally was. (the same thing that you login here with.) To see your username go to your profile & click modify profile. Make sure you're logging in with your username, not your display name.

Is the problem that I have a period in my username? If I try to login with it, it says no account found. If I try to make a new registration with it, it says it's an invalid user name (because of the period, I expect). If I log in with email, it pops up the new account I just created with that email (doctor girlfriend).

BTW, thanks for responding, I didn't actually mean to post my hissy fit in this main thread. But since I did, I'll give you the enjoyment of the gif as well. :-)

Your issue is the same as dorothy's - your display name is a little different than your username. Your username is just drgirlfriend with no period.

Hi Ellie. Are the email addresses used for account login automatically hidden to other users? I don't want to get a bunch of random emails here to my zoo account. Serious question though. Thanks!

Yes. Your email is hidden from everyone (including admins). The global accounts are part of a new privacy feature that proboards has - no one will be able to see your email address or ip address anymore with the new system. Users (or maybe just mods? not sure) have the ability to email you at that new address if you allow it, but it's all done through proboards so we don't actually see the address when we send the message, and I'm pretty sure even that is turned off by default.

That was one of the things that we turned off because it was kind of creepy/stalkerish. If you followed someone you got notifications of everything that they did.

Sorry about the issues you have been experiencing. As far as we were aware all key issues that have been reported thus far are resolved.

In order to investigate this issue effectively we are going to need more information however.

Are any of you who are having the key error fairly adept with computers? The more debug information we are able to gather will allow us to home in on the issue much more quickly.

Oh, thanks! I logged out and then in again as drgirlfriend, and it said "your account is linked." I guess that means I am now in possession of the most obvious AE in history. :-)

I stay logged in, so I'm logged in when I click the link in this thread. I even checked my account info to be sure I'm using the correct email. I'm a little afraid to log out in case I have forgotten my password. I know what I think it is, but I'm not 100% sure.


EDIT - Duh! I was using my email instead of username too. Ignore and carry on!
