Just so I'm clear, we can't make fun of bangs, but mental illness/rape is totally ok? I am so disgusted by the hypocrisy and don't give me that it's ok because JLM put it out there BS. Sake also posts pictures of herself (and her bangs) all the time, so by that logic, Sake was asking for it too.
It's not defined. Nothing in the TOS is really defined, and then there is the last section that just states something like "is generally in bad taste, as decided by Proboards" or something which basically leaves them open to deleting anything at all at their judgment. Some of the things we've had deleted here by Proboards have been rather mild, other things that are probably over the line aren't deleted. It's all about what gets reported, basically.
So... what are your guidelines for outing someone? I'm guessing there aren't any, since creating a troll isn't within the scope of the terms of service.
Yeah, I'm making it up as I go. The only troll I've outed at this point was when someone was spamming the boards with personal info after it had already been deleted. I probably shouldn't have even said anything then but I was annoyed by how dumb they were acting, basically.

Ok guys, it was me.
Just kidding. Ellie, can't you at least SAY you are going to out them and give them like, 10 minutes to do it on their own or something? You know how we love run someone off.

I don't think anyone creating an alter ego for the obvious, express purpose of harassment should be subject to any sort of term of service as it relates to that username.
And I think outing someone like that would go a long way toward making your job ultimately one hell of a lot easier in the long run.
Please tell us. Seriously. If we start outing the trolls, maybe it will put an end to that douchebaggery.
This was my first thought. Is there a middle ground, like a private warning to the poster from the admin? I think even knowing that the admin knows who you are might be pretty effective. But then again, there were reveals in the MM SS Santa thread and that doesn't seem much different.
Seriously though, the person has been warned in private. I'm not sure yet how else to deal with it but for now I'm not going to out anyone publicly. Sorry I created more drama.
