I am from St. Pete...I lived in Old Northeast most recently and loved the nearby Publix :-) I hear all Albertsons have shut down, what is in place of the Albertsons that was across from Publix now?
LMFO it's ANOTHER Publix. They are across the street from each other. I used to live in Old NE too, small world.
THAT IS AMAZING. It is like the Lewis Black bit about the Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks. I used to work at the Albertsons by Seminole Mall, I hear that the Publix that was IN Seminole Mall just moved over to the old Albies building. Much more sane.
I loved Old NE. I miss having a 3 minute drive to the grocery store. I have a friend who lives near there...is it true they put in a Fresh Market?

North Arkansas. We have Country Mart, Hudson's, Edward's, and Aldi in town. I can drive 30-60 minutes into Missouri to get to a Harter House, Dillons, Hy-vee, or Price Cutter.
We have Kroger and Meijer. Original Michiganders are loyal to the death to Meijer. However, I'm a Kroger girl through and through.
If I want to get fancy, I go to Busch's (with online ordering and they'll put your order in your car for you in a little drive-through), or the super fancy local store that doesn't carry any normal name brand items, like Cheerios, but instead stocks "toasted organic, hand planted, oat circles from first growth farmland." Their meats are delicious, but crazy expensive.
Wegmans, even though its like 15 miles each direction from our condo. But it's totally worth it. If we just need to get a few quick things its usually Safeway. Can't wait until they open the Alexandria Wegmans next year!
HEB is great for South Texas but it's not in North Texas which blows. But we have a ton of other options. My favorite is Market Street. We do have a central market (fancy organic HEB) and while I like it a lot it's very crowded on the weekends.
Others I don't go to are : Tom Thumb, Krogers, Albertsons (few and far between), Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Aldi's and Sprouts
