"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
Oh! And there's a Weiss opening up next month down the road. Never heard of it, but I think there are some in other states.
Weis originated in my neck of the woods. central PA.
In fact, the name Weis is a big one in this area. The university I attended has a lot of buildings named after Weis, the local children's hospital, Bucknell University has a Weis Center for the performing arts. They're bigwigs around here.Â
I worked at Weis in high school. Weis is the best. We also have Giant here. Honestly though, I find Target to be the best priced non-discount store.
During the summer a lot of my produce comes from Amish stands and cheeses/meats come from little Mennonite stores.
But I'm not telling you the name of them.
I need to go to Roots or Green Dragon again soon....
I'd be interested to know the names of your places if you're in the area I think you are, but I understand you not wanting to share.
Green dragon has become so depressing. I live a hop, skip, and a jump from it (ok...more like an hour now that I've moved. But it still isn't that far away) and they just don't have much. Any produce they do have, you can find at local mennonite and amish markets and road side stands.
I'm in Central, PA at the moment. I came from the Lebanon area. I know things...in both places.
Portland, Oregon. I personally shop at Fred Meyer (Kroger's) but there are also WF, Safeway, Albertsons, Thriftway, QFC, New Seasons and Winco near me.
I love Fred Meyer. I wish we had them here. I die of jealousy when we visit my family in Portland.
One stop shopping! I can get a pair of shoes and a gallon of milk.
I live in WA state/USA. Winco is my grocery store. Winco stands for Washington Idaho Nevada Colorado Oregon. If you don't live in one of those states you're out of luck which is too bad cause Winco is awesome!
Winco is scary. Maybe that's just the one I went to.
In the order that I'm most likely to shop: Whole Foods, Kroger, Randall's, HEB.
Wha? Why is HEB last on your list? It's my favorite!
I hate Kroger. They rearrange the store all the damn time and the layout makes zero sense. My HEB is small but has everything so I can be in and out really fast. I like their store brands, too.
HEB store brand is the besssst. When we were in Iowa I tried buying Hy-Vee brand stuff and it was gross. I finally understood why people are name brand loyal.
My favorites are Kroger, Sprouts, Market Street and Central Market. We're getting a Whole Foods in Highland Village soon and I'm so.excited. I rarely do WF because it's about 20 minutes away.

NE Ohio. I shop at Giant Eagle. We also have Marc's, Heinen's, Acme, Aldi, and Trader Joes (I go there a couple times a year, there isn't one too close to me).

I've lived in Nevada or Colorado my entire life and have never heard of Winco.
