Most of us are relatively responsible, nice people, so there are just only so many flame worthy things for us to post with such frequency.
And I'm glad about that. I prefer that MM is mostly sane with occasional bouts of drama as opposed to the boards where dramz are a part of everyday life, or every other post is "I am LIVID!" or "omg my life is ending." Not every daily occurrence is the end of the world.
Unrelated, but a confession I thought of while on my way to work: my husband and I share tissues
How does this possibly work? Unless you don't really need to blow your nose, I can't fathom there being enough clean tissue left after one use.
Please tell me you don't let it dry up and re-use.
It's when we're out and about. I'll need a tissue (really, with my allergies I should carry them everywhere, but alas...). I'll ask for a tissue (he always has them in his pocket, but 9 times out of 10 it is a used one (dried up)), and he will give it to me. Then, if I didn't blow my nose THAT much, I'll give it back. He yelled at me the other day for deeming one all used up and throwing it out!
I often reuse my own tissues too. If I didn't, I'd go through like three boxes a day.
I hate kids birthday parties where gifts are opened. Especially when it is a large party and you have to sit there for an hour while a hundred presents are being opened, all the other kids try to open presents that are not theirs and the bday kid looks tired and overwhelmed and like he/she doesn't care about presents after opening the first fifty.

I'm sorry, you'll need to save this for the next MMM flameworthy post. (kidding)

I thought we were trying to reintegrate the two...
I judge people who don't have their dogs on a leash (outside of dog parks or their own yard of course). I think it's dangerous for the dog and can be dangerous for others around. Not everyone likes little fluffy running up to them without a leash.
Something that else that bugs me about MMM is that there seems to make me feel bad about my laxed parenting in general. I know this is my own issue but I am the type of mom who allows my kids to watch TV, drink juice on occasion, eat special treats, love disney crap...etc. I feel like I am judged for stupid stuff that I am sure lots of people do. I think is why I like the ML board more lately because I feel like it's more realistic.

That's not remotely flame worthy. People who let their dogs run around off leash in places other than their own fenced yard or an off leash dog park are assholes. This is an incontrovertible fact.
I also think OP has a weird obsession with school prestige, test scores, etc. How's that for a flame worthy?
Shots fired! thanks for that one, @songforyou
LOL.
Hey, she wanted truly flame worthy and then posted all about other people's SAT scores and college admissions. So this seemed as appropriate as anything else.
I wonder how flame worthy it is that I keep using the THIRD PERSON.
I ran our Turbo Tax and preliminarily we owe $3K combined state/federal. I worked PT this year and I guess I misjudged my withholdings (even though I withheld the max plus $100 per paycheck, but whatever). We bought a house at the end of 2013 so I know our taxes for this year will be better.
The flameworthy part is that I still really want to take a vacation with just DH this year. He won't want to after hearing we owe $3K. I'm thinking of booking before I tell him about our taxes.

I didn't even realize people still did this. I haven't seen presents opened at a kids party in over 20 yrs.

I was at one recently. It was tedious. To say the least

Agree. High five from a mom whose 3.5 year old has been watching hours of TV some days lately. Thanks cross country move.

Alright, I'll see what I can contribute even though I think my opinions might not be flameworthy (since I didn't really think that v's AI opinion was flameworthy).
1) I think parents should do everything they comfortably/reasonably can (<-- see how I qualified that?) to help their child get into a top school. Yes, plenty of children go to not "top schools" and excel and plenty of children go to top schools and willingly squander the opportunity, but I believe that top schools offer invaluable networking/alumni opportunities and resources that people should avail themselves of if they can.
2) I don't understand the mentality that just because you can afford to buy real estate means you must buy real estate. I don't encounter this mentality much in NY given that many people who live here, like us, could buy if they wanted to but instead choose to rent, but friends who live elsewhere look at me like I have 5 heads when I tell them that we rent (and probably secretly assume we are total failures at life, which is fine by me).
I like MMM because it's boring. I avoid MM and ML because I'm just not up to being flamed, and my stream-of-consciousness posts inevitably lead to me being flamed. I'm too tired to have a thick skin.
It's hard to come up with controversial UOs that haven't been hashed out already in previous UO threads.
Um, I think Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Gossling are gross.
I love that Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski are wearing matching headbands today.
I wanted to join MMM, but had a hard time relating to all the baby posts. I also couldn't contribute much because I'm pretty sure I did everything wrong when my son was a baby.
Also I think writing/saying my son and/or DS sounds pretentious. I feel the same way about husband/DH/fiance. I'd rather just use their names or make up fake names to preserve internet anonymity.
I was hoping this stream of consciousness post would lead to some unique or controversial thought, but it hasn't yet. I'll try again later.

I'm with you 100%. A couple yrs ago one of my friends was giving me shit for renting. Then a few months later she tried to sell her condo and found out that, surprise, surprise, it was not worth the same amount in 2012 that it was in 2008 so she's stuck in a 1 BR with her child for the forseeable future, whereas when my lease ended I just moved to a bigger place.

I judge people who have silly personal blogs about going through their divorce, cooking crappy food, trying to run a 5K and such. Get over yourself. No one cares.

WHY do you give it back to him after you use it and not pocket it yourself???
And, I'm sorry to bring it up again but I can't help myself (so maybe that is truly flameworthy)--the bolded is now my new toilet-paper-rolling equivalent low bar.
Sorry, the bolded is going into corn dog stick territory here. WTF cares about throwing out a used tissue?! Was there a coupon on it for a free box of tissues?
