"People that trust you are very gullible," Geyser told a detective. They passed by a public bathroom and some trees, and then, "Stabby, stab, stab," Geyser said.
Yeah, not the words of a completely sane 12 year old. Should be locked up for the rest of her little life. I'm glad they are trying them as adults, seeing how they had been planning this with alarming depth for months.

JFC I hope they get locked up for the rest of their lives.
This story scares the hell out of me. I feel so bad for all of their families too, I cannot even imagine. I'm sure they knew their daughters were troubled and maybe a little bit too into that game, but who would have ever thought that they would do something like this?
I think both girls are insane, and should be locked up for the rest of their lives. How else could you do something like this?

I will not say much about this which I know is fucking terrible, but I have a tremendous amount of sympathy towards the family members of course the victim but also the alleged perpetrators. I know for a fact that there are good people involved here and good families. And there is mental illness and tragedy all around.

It's so horrible all around, for sure. I can't even begin to imagine being either of those girl's mom. It's horrific and I hope one day there can be some semblance of peace for everyone involved. That girl sounds so very dangerous and evil.
I'm just grateful for how appalled my son was for me even having the talk with him about it. It's refreshing knowing your kid has a firm grip on reality. So many gray areas nowadays.
I can't bring myself to describe a 12 year old as a piece of shit, but I will say this is terrible and horrendous and the perpetrators are obviously unwell mentally. I feel terrible for all three families. They each lost little girls in a terrible way.
I feel like this Geyser- girl is a true psychopath and I am glad that she acted while she was still too young to be clever about it. I am glad she is being tried as an adult and that she will hopefully be incarcerated for a long ass time. I shudder to think the fatalities that this girl could have racked up with more maturity behind it.
I feel like the second girl may not be a psychopath, but more of an easily influenced girl and with a very shady sense of right and wrong. I feel like her comment " this is happening this is really happening" when Geyser showed her eh knife shows that she at least partially realized this was not something they should do. She is NOT innocent and she is absolutiely deserving of being tried as an adult but I guess I kind of hope that true psychopaths are rare and two 12 year old girls didn't just happen to be living in the same town in Wisconsin.
Ugh. My heart truly breaks for all these families. They all got a new daughter with a horrible story in one day. And an undeserving mountain of guilt ( for either raising a monster or letting your daughter be in he company of these monsters.). So sad.

Terribly sad.
So you have info. Okay. Well, that is sad. I hope these girls are put away, though, and get help while they are in there.
Yes. And I believe there is a lot of fear being created by the media here and taking the frightened ramblings of a disturbed girl as proof of her inherent "evilness" when it's closer to the truth that a child with some severe issues did a horrible, horrible thing. Not because she is evil. Because to make it sound even more sinister is better for ratings. When the act was sinister enough and all of this other "stuff" hides the real problems.
I've just never seen "the other side" or the truth compared to a sensationalized story before and it's very upsetting.

What is the correlation you're drawing between this case and Amanda Knox? Because AK may have been framed, but the girl who was stabbed in this case lived and was able to tell police who stabbed her, so...

So, you don't have to respond, but it's a severe mental illness, basically.
Some serious issues for sure. And not at all an excuse. It's just making some severe stretches to make it even more "evil." I just know for a fact that there is a lot of goodness there. And also, obviously some mental issues and horrible decision making.
Like I read an article "did her dad encourage this?!?!?" Because he had a skull ring or something on Instagram. Because obviously only a psycho would like skull rings.
Three girls lives are ruined and it has nothing to do with anyone being evil.
I realize none of this is making sense. It's just making me so angry. I feel like its a version of blaming Marilyn Manson music for Columbine. When the truth is sadder and deeper. And I wish she didn't have to pay with her whole life for a horrible thing she did at 12 and not emotionally balanced. But who knows how I would feel on the other side.
Yeah, I am hearing you, but I'm thinking of that girl (not saying you aren't) lying on the bike path with multiple stabbings. No matter how mentally ill someone is, they have to be put away for that. That girl almost died.

:/
I get that these kids are dangerous, and can't be let out, but they are absolutely not adults. They obviously don't, can't, think like adults, and it shows in everything about this story.
I can't even fully articulate my feelings on children being tried as adults. I hate it.
And I hate how awful our mental health services are in this country. It makes me sad for our children's future.
Yes. I agree heartily with this.
My SS has a mental illness. We have to deal with H's family that is convinced he just needs more snacks, or extra naps because he doesn't really have a mental illness. They hate me because I'm the one that pushed to take him to a psychiatrist.
Then on the other side are the people who tell us we should commit him to some type of facility. Except that the facilities that are available for pediatric patients are few and far between. Plus they are ungodly expensive and not entirely/not at all covered by insurance. Many are short term options.
Too many times it takes a tragedy before proper help can be found. It shouldn't have to come to that.
I can't get behind them being tried as adults. Especially when they are clearly not of the right mind. I think they both need severe help and possibly committed for a very, very long time... but not jail.
My gods, yes. And this isn't even one of those cases where a 16 or 17 year old is tried as an adult. These are prepubescent children!
Who stab people, though. That tendency isn't going to lessen with time, and even if it did, it's pretty risky. I suppose it'd be good to have a special home for these types of kids, that's on lockdown, but getting funding is like getting water out of a rock. So, yeah, I agree on the crappy mental health services point.
But trying them in the same category as people in their 20, 30, 40s isn't helping these LITTLE GIRLS get the treatment/help they obviously need. I totally agree there should be a place for children like this. But what happens when they are tried and sentenced? They'll go to a woman's prison? Is that really the best place for them? The fact they thought they were achieving power through a fictional character and searching for his castle shows their mental capabilities.
So you have info. Okay. Well, that is sad. I hope these girls are put away, though, and get help while they are in there.

I have- the Taconic crash and also in medical cases that make the news and can relate.
So many untrue statements and so much misinformation and speculation that become "truth." Its very upsetting.
I get that these girls did a horrible, horrible thing, but they're children. I don't think it's right to have them tried as adults. I just don't.
I mean, what would you do differently for children who have the urge to kill? No sarcasm.
First of all, that's making a lot of assumptions about what is going on here. This incident doesn't mean there is necessarily a continued threat. And second, a child who just turned 12 would benefit from 6 years of intense therapy while being incarcerated in a facility meant for juveniles. Think off how young someone who is just barely 12 is. There are a myriad of developmental reasons why a child cannot be treated in the same way as an adult.
I am now dying to know if Melinda has some really interesting and high profile job that makes her privy to info, or if she happened to know one of the families.

I wax people's vaginas for a living. I guess that's interesting.

People go to jail for life for less. I don't know this girl, so I have no idea what she was thinking.
It seems like a dangerous/risky idea to try the rehabilitation path.
