View Attachment Peaches and Cream Barbie. I got this when my parents brought my baby brother home from the hospital. I loved this dress so much and was convinced that my wedding dress would look like it.
This was my fave too! I know it is a terrible example for realistic body image, etc, but damn I loved playing Barbies. Lol
My 6 year old DD plays with many of the barbies listed here! I'm so glad my mom saved all of my stuff. They are so much better than the crappy barbies sold today.
Did anyone have Maxie? I actually really loved this particular version of her, I had ones with swimsuits too. She had a boyfriend named Dude, I can't find him online. She also occasionally got to date Joe McIntyre when Dance Club barbie dumped him. (Too much?)
Attachment Deleted Barbie and the Rockers of course. Even listened to and could still sing songs from the hot pink tape that came with! I think it was to compete with Jem.
This post has brought back so many memories- the feeling of polyester and nylon, the sounds that the small plastic snaps made, that glow in the dark star dress. I haven't thought about these dolls in years, but seeing the photos, it feels like I just put them down a few moments ago. So weird!

I loved my Barbies so much as a kid. I had a ridiculous amount! When we left my father they all got left behind/thrown away. I was so sad. But I did have a lot of great memories with them.
Amazing barbie! My cousin and I loved that boom box. There was a very faint "shoom" sound and we would do do this silly hand move each time, kind of like a " rollin with the homies" move
So many memories. I loved Peaches and Cream, Dream Glow and Magic Mives Barbies. But I think my all time favorite was California Dreams Barbie, accompanied by Ken and Midge.
California Dreams Barbie! This is the only one I remember having specifically, even though I had several more.

Ohman. I wouldn't have thought I'd remember specific ones, but I definitely had the hollywood hair and cool top skipper. And I know I had a Midge and loved her for being brunette. I also had a Misfit doll from Jem, and the audio tape that went with it.
Then one year my rich aunt bought me the pool AND the CONDO WITH ELEVATOR and I felt like I had achieved everything in life..
So my mom was anti Barbie but let me have one Barbie and one Skipper. My BFF had EVERY Barbie ever made. She had an older cousin that was spoiled like crazy and gave her all of her Barbies when she outgrew them. In addition to all the Barbies she had EVERY accessory. Barbie dream car, dream house, the pool with the working shower, all the horses and all the clothes. To say I was mad at my mom and envious of my friend is the biggest understatement. I don't think I believed I would survive such a life of deprivation at times.
OMG. How wrong is it that this picture makes me want to dig mine out of storage and brush her hair and the horse's mane?
This post has made me happy we're visiting my parents for the holidays. I may or may not dig my old barbies out. I have so many happy memories playing with my barbies as a kid.
My sister and I never owned a single Ken doll. And at my friends house she didn't have a Ken either just some unattractive teen kid dude..... so many lesbians and barbies that would hookup with the underrage teen dude doll. Why couldn't they just buy us Kens so they could sex with a normal dude, lol....
