- I'm wearing the Miliani gel powder eyeshadow for the first time. There is no gel! It's all powder. I'm using sand and espresso and it looks nice but looks exactly like something Chocolate Bar could do. Plus my eyes are watering a little. Otherwise it seems like a nice formula.
- I got an email that everyone with an Ipsy subscription is getting a balm eyeshadow. They were trying to entice me back. Lucky you guys!!
- I really love the Milani Luminoso blush and this is the third time I have said this in the MUB today.
OOOOOH I was going to cancel Ipsy this week, but I guess I will keep it one more month.
Here is where I whine.
I am on week three of not being home. Well, I was home for 8 hours in between my work trip and coming down to my MIL's, so I had time to do a quick switcharoo on some of the products in my travel bag, but I wasn't really paying attention. Stress, shitty eating, and weird routines have done a number on my skin. I'm pretty sure the water here is over-treated with shit because even my hands and rest of my skin are gross. My face is a flaky, disgusting mess. I miss my whole makeup collection. I am tired of Ammo and Magic Act. I don't even have any cream blushes with me, and given the nasty flakey situation right now on my face, I need some cheek gelees. I haven't used my favorite B&B shampoo and conditioner since before I left so my hair is dull and flat and always getting tangled.
We go back home on Saturday night. I seriously cannot wait.

We're going on a mini-vacation and all I'm thinking about is how pissed I will be if my makeup gets lost or damaged...so I'm debating bringing makeup I don't mind losing.

I WAH. Every morning I put on a full face of makeup due solely to the MUT/MUB, even if otherwise I am wearing lounge clothes and no bra.
I recently picked up Smashbox's mini Full Exposure palette because I had to travel for work. It's so cute and tiny! It worked perfectly for a two-day trip and I didn't have to worry about risking any of my really nice, big palettes.

I'm really not grooving on the BITE lip pencil. The wear - at least for this color - is not good. It also makes my lips feel hella dry, even though they're not.

I have justified buying a crapton of low-cost travel makeup for just this reason. Then I travel and take my good stuff because what if I really need it?!?!
I also don't get the "gel" part of Milani gel shadows. It's powder, full stop. I think it's a good product, it's just not a gel.

I'm debating depotting my Naked 3 palette so it's easier to travel with. I did it with my 1 and I was really happy with the results.
What do you use to store the pots? I have a few in my naked palette that have hit pan so I was thinking about taking out the ones that are still usable.

An ELF compact. It only fits 10 of them but I store the others in another ELF palette.

I always put my makeup in my carry-on. My bag of liquids is all packed with makeup. I don't trust any of it in my checked bag.
I actually did my makeup today so I could play in the FOTD thread but then realized I photograph terrible. It looks like I'm not wearing anything and the coloring is whack. boo! I hope I'm cuter in person. haha.

Welcome to my hell. I don't even attempt selfies anymore.

I only do now when it's something different and bold otherwise, why bother? Nothing shows up anyway.

I feel like you have had a really grueling few weeks. I think you haven't done nearly enough whining. Hugs.

I really love my new IT foundation brush. I've been using a MAC skunk brush for the last 3 or 4 years, and recently realized that I didn't like the finish anymore. So I broke my no-buy, used my $10 off birthday coupon (another reason to go to Ulta instead of Sephora), and bought the brush Temptalia loved a few weeks ago.
OMG, it's really good. Like, really good. My only complaint is that I seem to need more foundation than I did with the skunk brush to achieve the same level of coverage, but the finish is so much better that I don't mind.
I recently bought finishing powder at Target, but I don't know if I'm applying it correctly. It's so light and fine, I can hardly get it on a brush to dust on and I feel like I'm losing much of it between container and brush. Am I doing it wrong?

I could be doing finishing powder wrong, but my experience has been that the difference it makes at first sight is pretty subtle. Mine immediately makes my pores slightly less noticeable, but mostly makes my foundation stay looking fresh an hour or so longer, and generally preserves my blush and concealer during the day. I don't notice it much right after application, but I definitely see the difference it makes by 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon. If you're not seeing that difference you might try a different powder (I like NARS' translucent powder) or a different brush.
Ditto nsl. Finishing powder doesn't make a huge difference for me; it just gives me a slightly more matte look. I actually find it to be far more effective later in the day when my oily skin is starting to shine. Sweeping some powder on helps to control the shine.
A student complimented me on my nail polish yesterday. It made me feel all hip and on-trend. Then I told her that it was a shade called "Bacterium" and she made a face. Oh well, I was cool for all of 30 seconds in the eyes of a 16-year-old.
