I HATE when people randomly speak to me in Spanish. Just cuz I look like I speak Spanish?! And it's never a non-English speaker who needs information or help (which I would never be bothered by, before people try to rip me a new one here).
Example: I'm working an exhibit today. Sale rep in booth next to me, wanders over and starts full blown conversation with me in Spanish. I look at him and go "I'm sorry, I don't speak Spanish" and he goes, "WHAT?! But you're Hispanic! Or at least you look Hispanic!" No dude.
Similarly, I HATE when a whole group of native French speakers switches to English the moment they hear my accent, despite being well aware that I'm fluent and understand their conversation. I am very aware my accent is terrible, but God it makes me self conscious and then I start losing my cool (and vocabulary). I don't even understand these people when they speak English half the time!
I can't respect being pro-life. I have friends that are pro-life that I respect as people in general but I can't respect that belief.
Not wanting an abortion yourself is fine. Wanting to make them illegal or generally inaccessible for everyone is absolutely dead wrong, no matter your stance on birth control, sex education, etc.
I know I'm late to the party, but I love when the grandparents come to town and watch J. We often don't even go on dates, but instead go off for the afternoon to shop, look at real estate, drink at establishments that won't let us in with a kid, etc. There is no right way to use a babysitting opportunity.

Preach it.
My H let it slip once that his SIL votes pro-life like their mom. It sucks because her and I have so much in common and this one this flashes in my head pretty much every time I see her.
I guess this is the thread to admit that neither of my kids ever had a pouch. Not based on any vegetable (lol) objection, I just never bought one. Maybe that'll move me from unremarkable to the not-like-me column on the spreadsheet?
DS has had a few but I'm usually too cheap to buy them. He does eat about $5 worth of fruit in one sitting but apparently I'm okay with that.
h you got it. The idea that an embryo or a fetus is a human being with full human rights equivalent to those of a pregnant woman is wrong, ludicrous, and incredibly, incredibly dangerous. It is not just ill-conceived, I think it is distinctly harmful. It forces an actual person to give up her fundamental rights in favor of a potential person.
I realize that where life begins is a gray area for a lot of people, but at the very minimum I think a first trimester embryo/fetus is demonstrably not a human life and to insist that it is is incredibly dangerous for women and society. (And for the record I am in favor of abortion past the first trimester but it's the most relevant one to discuss.)
I respect pro life friends but the belief that abortion is murder is wrong and harmful. I do not respect pro life beliefs.
ETA and FWIW one of my best friends is a strongly pro-life evangelical Christian who genuinely believes abortion is murder and who has adopted a child from an unwanted pregnancy. She is a great person and I love her and I respect her tremendously. But I can't respect her belief.
ETA 2 and I also try to dissuade her from voting. Lol.
When abortion and gay marriage come up, it always makes me lose a little respect for the US in general. How can a country with cutting edge research, top scientists and artists etc also be a country still talking about these issues? I think the pM Of Canada brought up abortion once and it was not viewed well by the majority. It was almost like people thought 'that's old news - why are you bringing that up?' And then we talked about some other stupid thing. And I understand the US is vast and encompasses small towns and big cities and morons and smart people but so does Canada.
