Apropos of nothing, @littlemoxie, a friend of mine got malaria in Mali and married her now exH in a delirious state of malaria after being airlifted out of the country and thinking she was going to die. She is pretty sure she wouldn't have married him otherwise.
Peggy - that is awful and hilarious at the same time.
I do feel slightly badly for the tattoo artist tasked with these masterpieces, though I'm sure we'll have the finest 73 & 74 year old ass cheeks s/he's ever tattooed.

I don't even think this is flameworthy, but I hate it when people post play-by-plays on FB...of anything. Lately I have had people posting statuses detailing every detail of sporting events. New statuses every five minutes. Same goes for award shows. Take that shit to twitter.
i have a confession. god. i cannot stand "is this a line?" posts when it is so obviously a fucking line. i wish ppl would title their post appropriately and say what it is really is "aw! bfp!" bc you know they damn well SEE it's a damn line.
yes i'm cranky. whatever.
I literally just did this a week ago, and I'm not even sorry. I hope we can still be friends. lol
I kind of mentally divide the board into camps. There is a "parents like me" camp and a "parents NOT like me" camp. And a "not memorable" camp. Membership in the camps is somewhat fluid, based on the topic at hand. But then there are some people who are my complete opposite in so many ways that we are never in the same camp.

Is this making sense or have I lost my mind?
I do that too but there are some outliers. For example I identify with @vicmo in a lot of ways because we have B's who are similarly aged and love trucks and she's funny...but we are fairly different in our parenting styles. Also anyone that is crafty or likes to cook immediately makes me feel lazy. Don't even get me started on the Erin Condren planners....

There are just so many variables, that it's hard to synthesize. And I really do appreciate those who are different than me, because I learn a lot from them.
Broadly speaking.
Parents not like me: worriers, anyone who won't leave their child, anyone who feels guilt for working, anyone who is good at housekeeping stuff, people who don't care what their kids wear, people who are into potty humor, etc. etc.
It's MUCH easier if you give me a person and then I can give you the rundown. I will use you for an example
Poster: @this
Parent like me: ESTJ, overly invested in board matters, likes to drink, ok with leaving kid, reasonable human being, working/daycare mom, convenience food ok, close/helpful grandparents
Parent NOT like me: more chores, less church, less travel,
You are never in the "not memorable" camp- I know too much about you.
OR
Poster: @kirkette
Parent like me: ok with leaving kid, reasonable human being, working/daycare mom, close/helpful grandparents, loves to travel, focused on education, doesn't stress or worry much, fun and busy social life, doesn't do lots of chores,
Parent NOT like me: way more fit, way more sex
@kirkette is also never in the "not memorable" camp
So in theory I could do this for everyone, and then the camps shake out into the three general categories. I have never tried to put this into words. It is far less structured and makes far more sense in my head.
I have a huge work meeting in 30 minutes, so this post was not as good as I would have liked it to be. Sorry about that.
You are making perfect sense, and obviously Roseanne (dis)allegiance is one of the factors of said fluidity.
*single tear*
Ouch on Roseanne. That's not a personality thing, that's a function of age IMO. There are shows that came out 10 years ago that I have no idea about, because I wasn't in middle or high school then.

Well the surprise vs. accident issue is one of those things that is hard to admit to. For some reason, I feel like the term "surprise" has a more positive connotation than "accident," which implies unwanted to me. That might just be me though, lol. I feel bad about admitting that DD was an accident though that is technically the truth.
It's 50% of kids, so you're in good company at least;)
I agree with you, and think it would be strange if people went around referring to their children as "accidents" in polite conversation.
I've always thought it was weird how many people felt free to ask me if my pregnancies were planned. Like, you really want to know about my occasionally sloppy use of BC?? I think a lot of people assumed DS2 was unplanned when he was actually the most wanted and carefully timed of all three. Even my male boss once asked me that. Awkward, lol.
My HR manager literally asked me, when I officially announced my pregnancy at work "was it planned?" wtf?
Oh oh, I also have a mental category of "How Canadian are you?" So like, do you have a Canadian reference in your screen name? Do you have a Canadian flag somewhere? Do you mention Canada a lot? Do you cry about your lack of Target or the fact that it's cold in May? DO YOU SHOW YOUR LONG MATERNITY LEAVE PRIVILEGE?!?!?

WE STILL HAD SNOW IN MAY! UGH! I literally got my winter tires taken off last week. Of course now it's like 1000° and ds2 and I are suffering in my non airconditionned car.
