I don't even know what to call this, social responsibility maybe? Such as - you don't pay taxes, but you can afford to do so, but when your house is burning you expect the fire dept to save you even though it's a pay service. I'm all for letting your house burn down.

Fainting at the notion some Pro-lifers don't want a Rape or Incest exclusion for abortion. I am not Pro-life but if you believe life begins at conception and abortion is murder the "why" behind the unwanted pregnancy will be inconsequential.

I'm not opposed to some limits on abortion. There needs to be better social support structure in place first (true access to free contraception in every small town in the country and a strong support system for families as well as a livable minimum wage), but I would be okay with certain restrictions if those issues were dealt with first.

I am here too. I don't agree with it at all, but I can completely understand this point of view and I dont think its necessarily morally indefensible.
I don't necessarily differ on guns, but I'm not sure where I stand. I know it's somewhere around stricter gun laws and no guns at all. I haven't taken an official stance yet. I'm trying to not let my emotions decide that one for me.
I think I differ on the death penalty. This one I openly admit to it being my emotions that have made this decision.
Based on the above, I do differ on sex offender registries. However, I think my opinion could change based on information that may be presented.
I wish this was multiple choice because I can't think of them all off the top of my head. Most things that I may think differently on, tend to be issues where I haven't taken an official stance, which is why I don't get involved in many debates I guess.

I am (fairly) anti teachers unions. Pro testing. (as a concept) I don't think all CEOs are the devil or that all corporations are trying to screw you over.
serious answer though is guns. I think that's the only truly groupthinky topic where I fall outside the majority opinion.
There are plenty of topics where we might have a 60/40 or more split that I think I fall on the minority side but we end up actually debating and both sides tend to hold their own rather than get shouted out. (at least that's how it feels to me, but I'm thick skinned) Like I don't think we're terribly groupthinky about anything in the middle east except Cheney/WMD's - though there are some HEATED opinions about Isreal/Palestine it doesn't usually turn into a landslide type thing. More just handful of posters on each side getting loud. Death penalty discussions tend to have both sides pretty strongly represented. Tax issues I'm not sure we're really groupthinky so much, but the split is just really stark on that one and I suspect there are a fair number of moderates (like me) who dont' feel informed enough to offer substantive contributions (like me) so it ends up being a discussion with very little middle ground. Which is a shame because I'd like to see more wonky money posts as a learning thing for me, but I understand why they don't get much traction.
We tend to be groupthinky in welfare, gay marriage, race and abortion related discussions, but I fall with the majority on those.
Pro-Gun ownership & rights. Government is not the answer to all things. Religion/faith isn't bad on the microlevel. Government agencies spying on citizens is fucking bad. Anti-death penalty Down with the two-party-only system.
I'm sure I'll think of more.
ETA: Businesses/companies aren't all the devil. Rich people aren't all the devil. I am iffy about unions.

Some of these you agree with the group think. Gov spying, anti-death, and no one wants the 2 party system.
Sex offender registries I think are fairly half and half here.
I run a little away from the crowd on some issues involving the First Amendment. I know I'm one of the only people here who think that in some situations, pharmacists should be allowed to refuse to fill birth control, etc. if it conflicts with their religion and not be fired. I generally oppose hate crime legislation. I'm certain that had we discussed the Elonis case from SCOTUS earlier this week, I'd be swimming upstream (I took a different point of view than the liberal stalwart Dahlia Lithwick). I can support some form of RFRAs (not all types, but I get the impression that I like parts of them more than most people here). I'd give corporations more free speech rights than most liberals here (though not as much as SCOTUS has).
Plus nobody believes me when I say Ted Cruz is going to be the nominee.
I'm also not sure what the prevailing consensus is here on it, but I'm generally against the estate tax on principle. Though sadly not because I think it will ever affect me personally.
I'm surprised at some of the topics here that people think there is a clearly defined board majority opinion. Like half your list LD. Like...honestly the death penalty. I never really felt like there was a clear majority? and I've flipflopped on it over the years so I guess I've been on both sides and I didn't feel ganged up on either side. Did the rest of the board flip flop with me??? (from pro to anti)
2 party system I see plenty of people of the "3rd party votes are a waste of a vote" and "yay third party" ilk.
I thought we were generally pretty anti patriot act as a group?
I am starting to wonder if I just assume people agree with me more often than not...
Okay - here we go. I know I will get flamed for this, but I guess that's the point, lol.
Pro Welfare limits Pro Death Penalty Pro Choice but with limitations Pro 2nd Amendment Pro fiscal conservatism Freedom of religion* (to an extent, I know there are some religious extremism, which I do not agree with) No amnesty for immigrants Oppose legailization (of any kind) of marjuana
