I'm in the minority on just about everything on this board, I feel. However, there is one that I'm kind of afraid to admit because I know some posters that I really like will forever side-eye my every post if they knew this about me.

But here goes nothing. Sweet potatoes are disgusting.
Please expand on this. All forms of sweet potatoes? Mashed sweet potatoes with mini-marshmellows glopped on top and charred? Baked sweet potatoes? Sweet potato fries? A random sweet potato chip mixed in a large bag of Terra chips?

I'm used to seeing or interpreting posts that are down on third party because nope, never gonna happen, wasted vote. I read the "you're wasting your vote" as "line up and pick one of the two parties."
I'm not entirely against Edward Snowden. I think he's a drama whore, but I'm glad he did what he did.
I think 3rd party is one of those things where the board has a majority opinion, but is not necessarily a groupthink topic in that people on the other side aren't derided. Am I the only one making that distinction? Disagreed with, yes. But not looked down on. Again - that might be the thick skin talking. The other aspect of that one is that the board is probably more pro-third party than the citizenry as a whole. Besides MH and people on this board I don't know anybody IRL that votes third party regularly or knows much about third party options.
I think because of the Republicans' on here who have differed from their party's national candidates and the Independants on there, that we all agree a 3rd or 4th party system would make government more likely to compromise and come up with solutions.
I consider myself an environmentalist, but I am also not anti-fossil fuels. I think they have their place in energy and consumer products and are a necessary part of an affordable energy strategy. That being said I think we can do better in many ways. I sometimes don't bother commenting in anti-big oil/fracking stories, despite my level of expertise, because I don't feel like people would listen with an open mind.

I stopped boycotting them long ago. I figured gay marriage is probably inevitable so their opposition doesn't really matter. I weighed that against their employment practices and decided that was something I DID want to support, so I went back. Shrug.
Weren't they supporting the anti-gay legislation in Uganda, though? It might be inevitable in the US, but there's still a lot of discrimination and quality of life issues for LGBT people both in the US and abroad.
I don't know, TBH. I'm not sure if that would matter, though. Will boycotting CFA a in the US have any impact on the situation in Uganda? Probably not. But supporting their local employment practices might have one.
What about food/wine/beer?! You don't like food, wine, or beer?
Not a big wine drinker, don't really care for beer and I eat but I never seem to like any of the things here people love despite my belly rolling over my waistband at the moment.
So glad to hear that you do like food, just not the ones mentioned. Here's where I admit that pho sounds delicious, but a long john or chik fil are things I've never craved. Maybe I'm not group think for foods either.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
This reminds me... Some of us are still waiting for a blog with tales of your single gal dating days.
I'm busy repressing those memories. Although I'm actually dying that peeing in the shower reminded you.
That guy messaged me again after I moved away and was like "you look familiar, have we met? We should go out" and I was mortified that he didn't even remember peeing on me.

I remembered too, and was trying to figure out a way to tie it in. Cause your statement made me laugh.

I seriously couldn't stop giggling when i read "pee in the shower."
I used to be quite anti-union (I grew up in Michigan and knew a couple of people that took advantage of the union) but they are basically responsible for creating a middle class. 50 years ago GM was the largest employer in the U.S., and they were paid $50/hour in today's dollars. Today the largest employer is Walmart, and they pay $8/hour. It's concerning that the middle class is being whittled away while corporations get all the more profitable.

I'm pretty much anti-states rights, especially for education and social issues. Honestly though I'm struggling thinking of something I'm ok the states having control over.

I like winter. Cake donuts are terrible. Clear liquors are for rich women on diets (thank you, Ron Swanson). Despite being a total music snob, I like Taylor Swift.

This one kills me. I thought of you today as I found myself humming along to a TS song and thinking to myself how much I can't stand her. But the damn song is so catchy.

I really really want to hate her.
But I don't.
So I hate myself a little instead.
But then I just shake it off.
Ok this is the first time I've posted in maybe 6 months (my last straw was the day I got compared to Lys). But people sent me these threads and we all know I can't resist navel gazing.
That said, I also can't resist telling you tacosforlife that you posted that Taylor Swift album in a Facebook status once and that made me feel like it was not totally uncool to buy it, and so I did and I love it.
For what it's worth, you are also credited with adding Jason Isbell to my rotation, so I assume that will make you feel better.
