I used to be quite anti-union (I grew up in Michigan and knew a couple of people that took advantage of the union) but they are basically responsible for creating a middle class. 50 years ago GM was the largest employer in the U.S., and they were paid $50/hour in today's dollars. Today the largest employer is Walmart, and they pay $8/hour. It's concerning that the middle class is being whittled away while corporations get all the more profitable.
The last CBA I worked on was between an electrical Union and a utility provider. Those are stable, well-paying, highly skilled jobs that can support a family, and the union makes sure they stay that way
Ok this is the first time I've posted in maybe 6 months (my last straw was the day I got compared to Lys). But people sent me these threads and we all know I can't resist navel gazing.
That said, I also can't resist telling you tacosforlife that you posted that Taylor Swift album in a Facebook status once and that made me feel like it was not totally uncool to buy it, and so I did and I love it.
For what it's worth, you are also credited with adding Jason Isbell to my rotation, so I assume that will make you feel better.
YESSSSSSS.
A friend of mine heard his new album and said it's fantastic.
Also, I will have to email you something else cool about him. Seriously, his show in February was probably my third best show of the year (after the two Replacements shows I like).
(But it is still totally uncool with the music nerds to like Taylor Swift. My music nerd friends give me crap about this all the time. Fortunately, T.Swifty gave me an obvious comeback: haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate...)

I haven't read anything but the last page of this thread, but this seems to fit: I listened to Taylor Swift's 1989 album while I was at the beach today, day drinking. My kids adore it and damn, it's catchy. I love you Taylor Swift!

Also, I will confess to pixy0stix that I have a rep on the MM Moms board for "liking" Nickelback. I confessed once that a Nickelback song came on the radio and I didn't switch the station. So I become a Nickelback lover in the board's mind ever since.

Political: I'm morally ok with the death penalty. I'm probably more ok with guns than most people here. There should still be heavy restrictions, but I don't think I'm nearly as against them as a lot of people here. While I think abortions should be easily accessible to all women, I am also in the camp of understanding the position of pro-lifers who don't make exceptions for rape. See @bunnybean for explanation.
Random: Um... I like Pinterest? Or at least what it used to be, it's kind of annoying now. But I like all the cute schmaltzy/crafty shit. I don't like macaroni and cheese, homemade or the kraft kind (which is weird because I like both pasta and cheese).
Purina, hills and royal canin. All put $$ into research. Also they make large contributions in cash and product to shelters. Lol dog food is my anti group think.
On the whole, the board is very anti-death penalty. It feels like it's not mostly because those of us that are for it are very vocal about it and will stand our ground to debate it. It's also one of those topics that will get you very snarky/cutting remarks.
I can only think of 1 or 2 that are pro-dl. This is different to me knowing there are a few?
