Wrapping up Big Brother...
1) what a moment when Steve won that comp by one point and then when he evicted Vanessa. *I thought that V's answer was right, and that he had lost.
2) Vanessa is such a sore loser. After all her gaming, voting for Liz over Steve was just ridiculous. Just ridiculous. Her comment about her poker winnings went over like a lead balloon. Can't stand her, and she got nothing for all her work. Bye Felicia.
3) Liz got final two, just like I had predicted from early one. Before Jeff was nominated week 3, my husband and I wrote final 5 predictions on a piece of paper. DH had #1 Steve, #3 Vanessa, and #4 John correct.
I'm thrilled for Steve. He was able to articulate in the final arguments exactly why he should win, and Liz didn't have any answers. Actually, her answers showed how she just hid behind others. The idea that Steve was a floater was absurd.
I'm trying to figure out why some of the questions seemed to have been created for a Steve-Vanessa final two when that was never going to happen. The weird Steve-bashing Will Kirby session was obviously done with the idea that Vanessa would take along her lapdog Steve.

I was really happy that Steve won the final HOH and evicted Vanessa. She definitely seemed like a sore loser. Steve perfectly articulated why he should win the game. Liz's answers were super lame.

Something bothers me about Big Brother---all this "girl power" and how the jury was very predisposed to crown a female winner. In Big Brother, male players are just better, both in this season and overall. This is the second season in a row I wanted all the women to leave and just leave the men.
It's easy to say "oh, let's crown a female winner," but when it's a certain woman, ugh. Julia couldn't have won. Liz couldn't win. Meg couldn't have won. Shelli and Becky may have been able to. I'm not convinced Jackie could've.
I can't remember the last time female players were better--maybe season 6. (Maggie, Ivette, and Janie certainly were better than James, Howie, and Kaysar.)
I finally got to watch last night! I'm really glad Steve got the gumption to vote out Vanessa - it was a game winning move for him. I hated Liz's speech, it was all about twin this twin that, Austin, etc. I think she's such a nervous speaker, and on the fly, she wasn't prepared at all. Not that anything she said might've made her a case to win by that point, she was a weaker player than Steve. Vanessa was sour grapes, absolutely.
I'm disappointed to hear this chatter that Vanessa has a CBS reality show coming on the air about being a successful, female poker player? I hope it's just rumor-mill bullshit, because otherwise, ew, CBS, ew.

If I were on Big Brother and Vanessa had already signed for that show, I would probably try to litigate. They obviously had a vested interest in keeping her and probably cheated in the diary room to do so.
There were two times when it seemed like Vanessa was on her way out, and it changed suddenly. Why? Diary room. The one example where they changed nomination times so that Vanessa could get in one last teary-eyed plea to Austin was especially egregious.
I worry that the story about her show "Poker Face" is true because she kept saying "poker face" toward the end of the show, like she was branding. On the other hand, Big Brother really only confers a kind of Z-list type of fame. No one gets a show out of it, so why should Vanessa? Do the old people who watch CBS a lot really care about poker? Doesn't seem like great synergy there. (I am referring to the fact that CBS's demographic skews older than the others.)

There has been (as with other seasons, but to a greater extent this season) chatter about CBS/Producers having a vested interest in seeing to it that certain player(s) get far along in the game. It'd be a shame if it's true, but not a surprise I suppose.
I will not watch a show where Vanessa is in a starring role, I don't care for her enough to see her in a reality show or otherwise. I'll be shocked if it does well!!!

I will never watch it, I do not like Vanessa at all.
It was so interesting to listen to Rob Cesternino's interviews with Liz, Vanessa, and Steve. Liz was so dim---thank goodness I won't have to see her ever again. Vanessa talked in that same halting way that Rob mocked.
Steve was so fascinating. I guess he really played up his social awkwardness in the game and was on to Vanessa early on. He was asked about Johnny's claim that he was a bad alliance member and absolutely owned it, saying of course he was. His goal was to take the most he possibly could out of any alliance and give very little. He also was frank about how Julia was in his alliance, so he couldn't justify blindsiding her and sticking with James and Meg when they had wanted him to leave over Johnny Mac just the week before.
(There are two things that really killed James and Meg: the meanness and bitchery that Meg and Jason subjected Steve to early on, and their seemingly being gaga over Austwins. I think that the tv show Big Brother tilted the America's Favorite vote to James when the live feed people favored Johnny by a little bit.)
Oh, and Steve did throw the final four veto because he thought Liz, Vanessa, and John would take each other, not him. He admitted it; he didn't say he "threw it" verbatim, but he said he realized that it was not better for him to win it. (so he threw it)

Evel Dick had a one-on-one interview with Dan right before the finale. I wish he did a show after the final episode; there's so much to talk about. Without the final episode, it's incomplete because he's still talking about Vanessa as if she's sure to be the ultimate winner.
Evel Dick never seems to have a good word for anyone---they don't play the same style of game he did. However, he did like James. I didn't listen to his episode after Austin left; I should. I paid $20.99 for a full season of Evel Dick, and it was worth it. He entertained me on his season years ago and still entertains me on Twitter and his Vimeo show. I hope his health is ok. (In case you didn't know, he was diagnosed as HIV-positive and said it was the result of sex with a stripper in Vegas.)
Regulars on his show are Ian and James Rhine. He also does a Survivor one, which I did not buy. I think the last season of Survivor I watched was the one Amber won.
