I'm still running, but not swiftly AT ALL. Haha. I had to start taking walk breaks pretty much immediately, and it got better in the second tri, but I still can't make it through 3 miles without walking. But I don't think that's necessarily normal. And I was running like you before I got pregnant; I think I was doing one 6-mile run per week and two 4-mile runs before I had to take a break for stims. That's pretty good for me, but I know you do a lot more.
I'm also still weightlifting, biking, and walking, just not as much or intensely as before.
That's great you're staying so active! I'm a dirty lurker on GotP, and you and your bump look great! I managed to gain 35+ lbs last time even with being terribly sick, because I wasn't active at all. (I'm super short, so less would have been better.)
I'm signed up for a Ragnar race in late October, and NOBODY has volunteered to do the second longest runner position, so it looks like I'm it. I'd better change my 10k pace on the website so that we have an earlier start time!
Mushe, headaches are one of my big pregnancy symptoms too. I get one most mornings, although they usually don't last long. My understanding is that a lot of the first tri misery comes from the expansion of your veins and arteries in preparation for the increased blood flow of pregnancy - except you don't have the increased blood flow yet. So it's just low blood pressure. This makes sense for me for the fatigue and headaches, but apparently it's also possibly the reason for the nausea, because your body feels emptier or something.
That is crazy! I love that you've researched the actual reason for them. I had completely forgotten about these. It's finally burned off here, thank goodness. I have to remind myself to just keep swimming. If I think too much about it, I'll want to stay home and mope, when I know I'll feel better after a bit of moving around.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Are you doing TN?!
Napa! I think it's the same weekend as TN. I'm so excited! A GBCN buddy is joining me on a team otherwise made up of local running group friends (and my sister, lol).

I also gave up running ... glad I'm in good company! I stopped during IVF, and with OHSS I wasn't able to do anything too strenuous. By the time I was comfortable running again, I had lost too much fitness (not to mention motivation). I'm now dealing with lower back, hip, and tailbone pain that makes it difficult to walk sometimes. Oh how far I've fallen!
After out a/s yesterday, we went to Buy Buy Baby to completely overwhelm ourselves, and spent a good bit of time testing out jogging strollers. I hope baby makes a good running buddy once she's big enough!
ivy and cactuscookie sounds like we're going to need a post baby back to running group!

I really think exercise helped me feel better in first tri. There was one morning when I was feeling crappy, but I forced myself through weightlifting on my lunch break, and then I felt so much better. This said with the caveat that I rarely felt REALLY bad; I know some people feel too sick to do any exercise, and I'm not judging that.
I am a stroller junkie. You will need them. It is just nice to have a place to put them. We have a Quinny buzz that I liked a lot and will use again. We also have a uppa baby g luxe which we loved and used for years. I also am going to get a new stroller. I think the front runner is the be city mini

ssg73, I love strollers too. Currently selling off all our singles except for the Summit and an umbrella stroller. I'm eyeing the City Mini GT double for the babies once we're done with the snap n go.

Yay loira!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!! What a great bit of news before you head back to Canada!
G22 I'm jealous! DD isn't even that old but the new stuff they have out now is so nice! Did you ship it over to Germany already?
ssg73 you have a quinny? Do you love it? We have the G luxe too and I love it. I think I have 7 strollers total between here, Chicago, and Florida. Yikes! There's a stroller group that I'm part of too where people post pictures and buy and sell their strollers haha! At least we aren't alone!

Exercise wise, I was doing boot camp 6-9 times a week prepregnancy, plus barre and yoga and elliptical. Now I'm doing an awesome prenatal strength training 3 days a week with yoga and walking. I was doing barre but it seems to flare my leg numbness but going to try again next week.

Mum is going to go look at a used Quinny Buzz today for us. I liked the look of it because the wheels are a bit bigger (my parents' neighbourhood has no sidewalks), and it has rear and front facing options. I think we'll buy a bassinet attachment to clip on for the first few months.

Yep, its probably on a boat somewhere on its way over there right now

loira I am so happy for you. What a wonderful appointment.
bcarp30 we loved our Quinny. It worked really well for us. We had the bassinet which we didn't use all that much but we were in lock down from about 2 weeks after Nicu lock down to May so by the time we could stroll outside again she was big enough for the seat. We also had the maxi cosi car seat that clicks right in. I loved that the seat flips forward send back. It has a small basket but we travel pretty light (neither of us carries a purse so our diaper bag is usually pretty small and it wasn't an issue for us.
Our car seat expired so now I have to figure out what to get. I am leaning towards the maxi cosi micro max 30 again. Oh and I am a car seat but as well so if anyone has questions....

Yes, I want in on this! Gosh I miss running.
I was just going to tell you...I'm a chapter leader for Moms Run this Town, and on our national board, someone was posting about their group at a base in Germany. I bet you'll find one there! It's so much easier to drag yourself out of the house when you have a buddy waiting, even just to get started with walks and stuff.

Good to know! I'll have to do some research and see if there's one at ours. I do know there is a general running group there, which I got added to their Facebook group. But not sure how easily it will be to meet up with a stroller with other non-stroller runners. Guess we'll see!
I am allowed to run short distances but my OB says that to not go over 5K. I think she's more worried about my mental health, and me blaming myself if something happena

I'll PM you the details. It's a PT in Canada that focuses on parental and postpartum fitness. Each month you get two strength workouts that customized for your stage in pregnancy. They are really focused on core (without doing things like planks and sit ups -- more like one armed stuff so you have to hold your core straight) and pelvic floor (lots of bridges and squats and step ups). You do these 2-3 times a week and then she advocates for as much walking as you can do, plus gives you an interval walking schedule for how far along you are as well. There's also fitness and nutrition info plus a FB group for questions and support. The program is $50 a month.
So I had a Blimpie's roast beef sandwich at work yesterday. I was in meetings all day and it was free and I was so hungry. Of course now I'm convinced I am going to get listeria.
Anyone want to talk me down? I realize I sound a little nuts
You are fine. Blimpies would go out of business if they regularly handed out Listeria with their sandwiches.
Would you feel better to know that I have eaten raw cheeses?

There was a blimpie by my OB. I had a sandwich after each visit which was every 2-3 weeks. You'll be fine.I never heated the meat.
Chiming in on strollers....after reading reviews I bought the Baby Jogger summit double. I LOVE it. My bff has a double BOB and I like mine so much better. One main reason is the canopy. I know BOB gets rave reviews but check out baby jogger too. I've been running all summer with it and no complaints.
That's a good sign right?! I always loved/hated when I felt nauseous. It was reassuring to me.
Yep. It's better then no symptoms.
I took a weird comfort in the minor sucky symptoms like nausea/vomiting during first tri.
It stopped being cool when I would still vomit randomly up until around 28 weeks. It was like my body wanted to remind me it was in control not me. lol
