Woo! I wish I lived in some of your cities. Cincinnati's motto seems to be "we'll get around to it."
Same for Memphis. I have better chances at seeing it (eventually) in Chicago, or in Atlanta in 2018. It'll probably be a good 4-5 years before it comes here.

Hey, I am traveling for this.
And it's a good thing I could only get $62 tickets because "Let's go see Hamilton!" has turned into:
Let's take the train to see Hamilton!
Let's go to the Art Institute before we see Hamilton!*
Let's get drinks after Hamilton!
Let's go to a nice dinner after drinks after Hamilton!
Let's stay in a hotel while we're in town for Hamilton!
*Free because we are already members.
So, um, yeah. Oops.
This is basically why I didn't go for NY tickets because neither one of us has ever been to NYC and I couldn't justify going and only seeing one musical and nothing else, so it was going to go from $$$ to $$$$$.
But the Chicago hype makes me glad we have SF season tickets. I've waffled on how difficult/expensive it's going to be to get single tickets, but given these are the next tickets opening up, I think we made a good bet.
Is it sad that I'm kind of (only a little bit) regretting ponying up quasi-megabucks for August tickets because LMM, LOJ, and Pippa have all announced their departure on the 9th? I feel like it's a matter of time before Daveed announces too. Is it too much to ask space out their departures??
/End FWPs
I have july 15 tickets. Six fucking days. If dd announces he is out i am going to lose my shit. Fwp i know but pissed i ponied up serious cash for this when i could have just seen 2.0 later. Whiny whiner who whines.

I just got Chicago tickets (like an hour ago) for January. The seats are not great but are also only 80 bucks a pop, and I was expecting I'd have to pay much much more (which I can't afford). I'm jazzed!

Shhhhhhhh, don't you talk that way about Daveed! I'm going in December and he has to still be there!!!!! I am nervous though, since Clipping just released a new album.....
I'm actually excited to see Javier, and I'm curious to see who will replace LOJ and Pippa. I trust that LMM will only choose the best replacements!!!!

Question about the departures: do the understudies get preferential treatment when looking to fill a role permanently? Is it courtesy to offer it to one of the understudies?

Ugh, I had 2 in the Left Mezz center for March in Chicago and someone snatched them before I could click purchase. I don't want to risk obstructed view...at 5'2, my view is usually obstructed enough.

Not long term. Javier was an alternate performer, not an understudy, so he may have had something in his contract. The other understudies do not get long-term preferential treatment, but may step into the roles temporarily while they look for someone else.
For those who have been to the show...what time do you suggest getting to the theater? I believe show is at 8 and i will want to buy shit. Also are playbills handed out freely or it is just one per person...i would like to grab a few. I am debating stage door mainly it depends on who is left in the cast.

Playbills are 1 per person. You can try to check the seats after the show but I doubt you'll get them.
As for getting there, it doesn't really matter as long as you're there in time to get your seat. If you're a frequent pee-er I'd budget in 20 minutes for that. The only bathrooms are on the bottom level and getting there during intermission is a feat.

We saw a matinee in NY last month. They don't open the doors til about 20-25 minutes before curtain, I assume as a security measure - they do a visual check of bags on the way in. As a result the lines are absolutely huge - like, most of the way down the block, in both directions. There were similar lines (though not as big) for Finding Neverland right across the street on the day we were there so it seems like standard practice for B'way these days.
The lines do move quickly so you will have time to get to your seat, but it is a bit unnerving if you're not expecting it. If you don't mind standing in line for awhile, I'd try to get there on the early side, especially if you want to buy stuff on your way in rather than afterwards.

I received a fundraising email today from the Clinton campaign saying that anyone who gives $19 is entered into a contest to win Hamilton tickets and a trip to NYC!
Also there is a Rochambeau monument in my neighborhood and it's been all overgrown for YEARs. Now they are fixing it up and I'm convinced it's because of Hamilton. I'll snap a picture when it's finished.

You don't have to donate to enter, but donating or signing up for text messages will get you additional entries.

I seriously hope that is not the situation for the show I'm going to see. In Chicago. In January. Brrrrr!
I want to shake the hand of whomever wrote this....
What time is it? SHOWTIME!
Hillary is taking a lucky supporter to see Hamilton on Broadway, and you should definitely not throw away your shot to win -- all you have to do is add your name for a chance for you and a guest to meet Hillary at the theater and see the show.
Trust me, you’ll tell the story of this night for the rest of your life -- history is happening, and you have a chance to meet the woman who could be our next president in the greatest city in the world.
I don’t see how anyone could say no to this -- but don’t wait for it, because the contest closes Sunday at midnight. So I’m going to ask you one last time: Will you add your name for a chance to be in the room where it happens?

I think this is becoming more common at theaters. The Pantages in Hollywood started doing security checks at the curb in December 2015.
