“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
Yup. And everyone is talking about it b/c it's a combination of traditional musicals, hip hop, love ballads, and they go seamlessly together like Pandora created a perfect musical hit station that also tells a riveting story of a new country and the love people have for it and a love story too.
I haven't listened to the whole soundtrack (which is really the entire show b/c nobody talks without singing a ling from what I understand), but this pop culture happy hour podcast made me really want to see it (oh and the lead is hot and I love musicals.)
Dear people who haven't heard of Hamilton: How is that? This thing has been EVERYWHERE. They were at the White House just a few weeks ago -- and someone posted about it here. They did a routine at the Oscars. Lin-Manuel has done interviews with everybody everywhere -- TV, radio, podcasts. People have been talking about the sold out tickets since last winter.
It even got a mention on Sleepy Hollow last week! Ichabod couldn't believe they made a musical about a man who "had a voice like a stuck goat."

I was in NY In mid-February and didn't hear or see anything about it. About a week or two later, my Facebook feed started blowing up about it. Then on the day of the Oscars (I didn't watch), I had a phone call with a friend who explained what it was. Did something happen in February before the Oscars that caused it to catch fire?
I hate musicals. Is this the kind if musical that only people who like musicals will like, or does it appeal to us musical-hating people?

Grammy performance was Feb, too, and being sold out for months.

I have only seen the parts that were on the televised Grammy performance but it.was.so.good. There's no Annie-sings-about-feelings-for-two-hours about it.
My morning news show aired the video of Lin-Manual Miranda at the White House a couple of weeks ago. The weather guy asked, "What is Hamilton?" The news anchor guy said, "It's a musical about 'President Hamilton.'"
You could see one of the other two anchors (women) cringe a little. I cringed a lot.

I read something (a tweet maybe?) where someone said they were at the show and got to the "and I'm the damn fool that shot him" line and she said the woman next to her gasped in shock. LOL

Jesus Christ, does no one remember the Got Milk campaign of yore?
AARON BURR. AARON BURR! SPIT OUT YOUR PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH AND WIN THE MONEY, GODDAMMIT. MILK HAS LET YOU DOWN!
It's fucking amazing is what it is. Luckily I got my kids into it so they sing it loudly with me everywhere.
I'm seriously debating paying ridiculous money for a re sale ticket. I NEED to see it. They just announced its coming to Boston next year with a touring company, but I don't want to wait that long and really want to see some of the original cast.
Every other week or so I ping iammalcolmx and say let's spend up all our monies and get tickets to this play then I go searching see the prices and change my mind.
I just looked at the weekend dates Summer will be here, saw the 800 dollars for terrible seats and changed my mind.
I've heard of it. For months and months. And months.
But I don't know anything about it because I'm avoiding hearing about it because annoys me how much people LOVE it and how very unlikely I will ever get to see it.
