Yup.  And everyone is talking about it b/c it's a combination of traditional musicals, hip hop, love ballads, and they go seamlessly together like Pandora created a perfect musical hit station that also tells a riveting story of a new country and the love people have for it and a love story too. 

I haven't listened to the whole soundtrack (which is really the entire show b/c nobody talks without singing a ling from what I understand), but this pop culture happy hour podcast made me really want to see it (oh and the lead is hot and I love musicals.)

Then on the day of the Oscars (I didn't watch), I had a phone call with a friend who explained what it was. Did something happen in February before the Oscars that caused it to catch fire?


I hate musicals. Is this the kind if musical that only people who like musicals will like, or does it appeal to us musical-hating people?

Grammy performance was Feb, too, and being sold out for months.

I have only seen the parts that were on the televised Grammy performance but it.was.so.good. There's no Annie-sings-about-feelings-for-two-hours about it.

My morning news show aired the video of Lin-Manual Miranda at the White House a couple of weeks ago. The weather guy asked, "What is Hamilton?" The news anchor guy said, "It's a musical about 'President Hamilton.'"

You could see one of the other two anchors (women) cringe a little. I cringed a lot.

I read something (a tweet maybe?) where someone said they were at the show and got to the "and I'm the damn fool that shot him" line and she said the woman next to her gasped in shock. LOL

One is opening in Chicago on September 27, 2016. Only groups of 20 plus on sale now.

It's fucking amazing is what it is. Luckily I got my kids into it so they sing it loudly with me everywhere.

I'm seriously debating paying ridiculous money for a re sale ticket. I NEED to see it. They just announced its coming to Boston next year with a touring company, but I don't want to wait that long and really want to see some of the original cast.
